I've been researching whether there is a difference between the growth rates of male vs. female hair. Some sources have said female hair tends to on average grow faster while other sources have said just the opposite.
My wife says her hair growth at 3/4 inch per month which is faster than mine. Any thoughts on this? Perhaps personal observations?
There is no difference between "Female" and "Male" hair. Any differences in growth rate between individuals is just that.
No difference whatsoever.
In my case, I'm about 1.25" a month. So, it really depends on the person.

Oops I added an empty reply, sorry about that.
I've read lots of university level human anatomy books, and not one has mentioned any difference in the growth rate of hair. Follicle cells and top of head tissue are identical in both genders as far as I can tell. A dermatologist would be able to give you a more authoritative answer.
