Alright guys I'm a couple of days into the first wave of beard ITCHING and it's driving me mad! Is there any little tricks anyone knows to help reduce the itching??
Neil
Neil, I know it's not what you want to hear but grin and bear it. It will go away in a few days and you will not even notice it as long as you don't shave. Keeping it damp with a moisturizer
might help.

Is it itching on your face, or throat? In my opinion, not only does a "throat beard" look not-so-nice, but it's the part that itches the worst. My advice is to keep the beard shaved just below the jawline, to cut down on itching as well as improve appearance.
Try combing it and washing it with shampoo in the shower. It will pass soon though. I haven't had the beard-growing-in-itch in so long I'd nearly forgotten about it. I'm kind of surprised to hear it beginning this early in grwoth. Usually it's about two weeks in. The good thing about a beard is that it is so much tougher than your hair that I'd think nothing of scratching it if it did itch.
If I were a member of the X-men squad my power would be super beard growth - bit useless really. I've been able to grow a proper beard since I was about 15 lol. Plus my skin is on the sensitive side.

Scratch it man...scratch it! Itching is a good sign, like feeling sore the day after you work out. It shows you are making progress and is, in some ways, like the awkward phase of growing out your hair, only a LOT shorter. Bruce'ster
Hey Neil
Perhaps what worked for me will work for you to get you through this short period.
When in the shower rinse your face, shampoo and apply conditioner. Do it several times a day (especially conditioner alone if needed.) With luck, this should reduce the itchies for you down to about a zero before they work their way back.
Good luck and I hope it works.
