Hi everyone,
It is hard to believe, but it has been just over a year since I have discovered the hyperboard. It was one year and about a week ago that I made my first post, and have found this community to be one of the best on the internet. I could not have come this far without the support of so many of the terrific guys here. And I can NEVER forget to mention the support of our wonderful women members as well, that helps to make our community truly complete.
I was not originally planning an update until October (3.5 years), as my hair is rather slow growing. However, the weather has been so fabulous in Nova Scotia lately, that I felt it worthwhile to go to the rooftop of my condominium building and take photos in the sunshine. Most of these photos were taken last weekend, and represent about 41 months of growth since my last cut in April 2004. Now, on to my pictures!
Here is a picture of me with a nearby golf course in the background. This is not the golf course I play at regularly, that one is outside of town. My hair appears lighter in the sun, and is a little messy, as it was windy.
Here is a picture of the back, again, a little windy.
It was windy that day, so this picture is a "blown in the wind" photo.
I also took a picture of my ponytail, again, the wind was blowing it, so it is a little crooked.
I took a couple of photos indoors, these show the difference in colour when the pictures are taken indoors, with flash. First, the front.
And a sideways/back photo, indoors.
Just for the record, here is a picture of the back, taken 11 months ago, so you can see 11 months growth. When I posted this photo last October, I was concerned that I had reached termianl length, and had experienced almost no growth the previous year. Before I discovered the hyperboard, I was straightening my hair daily, causing lots of breakage, and was concerned my hair had stopped growing. I stopped straightening just over a year ago, and it appears my hair IS growing after all!
Anyway, that's all for now, and please forgive the large number of photos! However, I really wanted to celebrate my first year on the hyperboard, and admit to being a little "picture heavy" today! Thanks again to EVERYONE for the support you have shown me in the past year, and happy growing to you all.
Of course, any comments are gratefully received!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! David, Your hair looks amazing! Those windblown photos really show how long your hair has gotten. I don't know if it's growing slow or not but I am certain it is still growing. Your hair appears MUCH longer this time around. You seem to take really good care of it and it certainly shows. You have one healthy long mane. The lighting is the first set of pics really brought out the different tones in your hair . I wasn't aware that you still had so much Blonde in your hair. Very nice! All in all, An extraordinary update, David.
~Chris H
Hi Chris,
As always, you always have the kindest words to say about my updates, and you have not missed a single one since I joined the hyperboard. I cannot thank you enough for your continuous support.
I think my hair is still growing reasonably well, and has certainly improved since I discovered the hyperboard. I believe I lost close to a year of growth by the daily straightening that I used to do before I discovered the hyperboard, due to the ends continuously breaking at that time, and I have pictures taken 8 month apart (before I joined the hyperboard) which show little apparent growth.
Since I never taken pictures in the sun before, I felt that the beautiful weather presented a great opportunity, and it DOES make my hair a lot lighter looking in colour.
Thanks again, Chris, for your fanastic support, and it has been a pleasure getting to know you both on the hyperboard and at the "Ranch"!
Take care,
David
David, Your hair is gorgeous, awesome update.
Thanks for posting the pics!
peace, jonalbear
Hi Jonalbear,
Thank you for your very kind words about my update. If I could grow hair as long and thick as yours, I would be VERY happy indeed. I was especially impressed with your ponytail in your picture with the hair tie.
Keep it growing,
David
Well, David, what can I say except Fantabulous!!.
Your is so much more healthy looking and fuller than it seemed a year ago. You certainly look really happy and contented so I guess you are enjoying the journey.
Everything looks A1, the hair and beard are a really neat combination for you.
Thanks for the update David and thanks for your unending support and positiveness here at MLHH, we appreciate you very much.
Regards Dave
Hi Dave,
First of all, I just wanted to express my deepest appreciation to having you with us both on the hyperboard and as part of the team, and it has been a pleasure to get to know you. You are a genuinely cool guy who has supported me from the beginning, and I am sure you replied to my first ever post last September, when I was concerned about damage from straightening.
Thank you for your kind words about my latest photos. I attribute the improvement in my hair to the knowledge I have gained here, as well as the support of all my fellow members. I really could not have done it without all of you.
I also wanted to say that you have a GREAT new avatar, which shows your current length very well, and you have come such a long ways in 21 months. I have some thoughts about changing my avatar as well, but will have to think about it a bit.
Take crae,
David
Outstanding David!
You're truly an inspiration to all us short hair guys on the board. You obviously take great care and pride in your mane and the results show wonderfully. It's great to have you here on the board with us David. Congrats on the great update and upon being here for the past year.
As always..
Be Blessed..
Tristan
Hi Tristan,
Thank you for your kind words, and I just wanted to add that it has been a genuine plesaure having you with us on the hyperboard as well. Your posts have always been 100% positive and supportive to everyone, and you are a highly valued member of this community. Also, your hair is coming along VERY well indeed.
Thank you again, and take care,
David
Hi Walter,
Thank you for all your kind words about my update, I appreciate it. I have to admit that you caught me at a bad time in the beard cycle in my first photo as well as the two indoor photos, which were taken last Sunday. Since my beard grows so fast, I trim it every few days to maintain the growth at about two months, and I actually trimmed it later on in the day Sunday. The other three outdoor pictures were taken on Tuesday, and you can see the lack of any clouds in the later photos as opposed to the thin clouds in the earlier ones.
Take care,
David
A+++ David!
Longer and thicker - what could be better! Thanks also for being such a supportive influence here. I've enjoyed getting to know you both here and at LHC.
Regards,
Jason
Hi Jason,
Thank you for your very kind words about my update, and I have to admit, as a 54 year old guy, to being rather pleased to have the hair that I have now. I really credit the improvement in my hair in the past year to the support I have received here on the hyperboard as well as over at the LHC.
I also would like to say that you have really been a tremendous inspiration to me. The pleasure is all mine in getting to know you both here and over at the LHC, two of the best communities on the internet right now.
Kindest regards,
David
Wow David. Your long hair is looking incredible beyond words and the beard in combination is simply sensational! What a great undate this has been indeed and I will have to say........you sure don't look too unhappy in the photos. I would smile as well with hair growing as great as is yours.
BRAVO!
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Thank you for your very kind words about my update, I really appreciate it. I have to admit to being quite happy with my progress, and the overall improvement of my hair's condition since I discovered the hyperboard a year ago. I really have to credit the support of everyone here for healthier hair. Of course, I give Bill full credit for encouraging me to grow a beard last winter.
Also, I just wanted to say how much I have I have valued our friendship, and it is a real blessing to be on the team as well.
My best to you,
David
Great pictures David! You look very majestic. An inspiration!
Banana
Hi Banana,
Thank you for your very kind words about my update, and I am delighted to serve as an inspiration. I am looking forward to following your hair growing journey as well.
Keep it growing,
David
Hi David. Your hair is really getting long and looks great. It seems that like me, you like to wear your hair loose. I'm sure that where you live there is alot of wind to blow thru your ever lengthening mane. Keep it growing.
Del
Hi Del,
Thank you so much for the kind words, and yes, I wear my hair loose most of the time, except when I am out golfing. Even though it tends to be windy most of the time, it is cool to have the wind blowing through my hair. Since this was the first time I took outdoor pictures in the sun, i wanted to share them with you all.
I also wanted to add that I really enjoy all your updates and posts. You seem like a genuinely fun loving guy, who really enjoys your mane, and that is contagious and inspirational to everyone on the hyperboard.
Keep it growing,
David
Hi David, your hair looks great. I like these 2 photos the best. Keep growing it for sure.
Scott
Hi Scott,
Thank you for your kind words about my update, of course your magnificent mane has always been a real inspiration to me. Slowly, but surely, my hair is recovering from the straightening that I subjected it to for over a year of my hair growing journey, and thankfully, seems to be growing better as well. Hopefully, I still have some more growing before I reach terminal length.
Take care,
David
Wow David, those outdoor pictures are spectacular, not to take a way from your hair (which I will get to) but wow that sky is such an awesome color and the trees so green. You have quite the view where you live David! OK on to the amazing hair :)
Looks great in the sun, quite spectacular, I am so glad that your hair still grows and no terminal length yet! Your mane looks awesome in the wind and so does that phenomenal beard you sport. You are taking such great care of your hair and it shows in the length and shine. I am sure you are making your coworkers jealous!
Happy MLHH anniversary! You are so central here David that it sure feels like you have been with us far longer :) Keep on inspiring all of us!
Hi Chris,
Thank you for your wonderful words about my photos. I had never taken outdoor pictures in the sun before (my avatar picture was taken by my niece on a dull day), and the weather has been so perfect lately that I felt I had to find some way to take outdoor photos. I may even ask Oren to use one of these photos for an avatar change. There was no one on the roof top at the time, so I grabbed my camera and tripod and fired away.
Of course, I credit the improved health of may hair to the tremendous support of all my fellow members, and credit my enthusiasm for the hyperboard to my fellow members as well. This is really an awesome community, and I feel honoured to be a part of it, and even more honoured to being on the team.
Hopefully, you are having some success with finding a way of dealing with your Candida, and my best wishes that your health will improve.
Take care,
David
BEAUTIFUL pics there, David, --- and you look so damn happy in them (lol)!!!! I can't say that I blame you, though... and, to me, the curls in your hair only create added interest, --- so I can't imagine that there was ever a time that you wanted to straighten them!
Anyway, your presence on this board has been such a blessing in so many ways: ever the couteous and considerate gentleman, and always ready and so willing to share a kind word with your fellow-longhairs. I am really looking forward to meeting you when you retire and head out West on your roadtrip!!!
- Ken
PS - Nova Scotia looks drop-dead gorgeous to me, --- I just love the crisp blue sky and lush green of the trees in the background!
Hi Ken,
I am delighted that you had a chance to see my photos, and I really appreciate all your kind words. I confess that I am happy, the health of my hair has improved so much since I discovered the hyperboard, and it is still growing! As a guy of 54, I certainly cannot complain! I may even get Oren to change my avatar to the picture where I am in the sun (it may need to be cropped a bit).
It has been a real pleasure getting to know you on the hyperboard as well as the team, and feel honoured to be a member of both. I am counting down the days until I meet you in 2009.
Nova Scotia is a beautiful province, especially at this time of year. If you and Even ever get up my way, I would be delighted to show you around my fair province and treat you to dinner.
Take care,
David
Hi David,
You're hair is doing great, it's looking much healthier. I think what's better though, is that you are doing great. I remember when you arrived on the board, you arrived worried and a little uncomfortable with the way people were telling you how you looked. Now everything is different, you sound alot more confident and you look it too. Keep your hair growing!
Well done David!
Neil
Hi Neil,
Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate them! I still remember how nervous I was when I made my first post (I am very shy), about damage from straightening irons, and you were the very first to reply. I could not have come this far without the support of this tremendous community, and I cannot thank everyone enough.
I wish you all the best in your beard growing journey, and here's hoping that the itching issues you are expereiencing now will soon be a thing of the past. I am also looking forward to your next update of your fabuolous curls as well.
Take care,
David
You've come a long way, David. Your hair has definitely not stopped growing and it gets better with each update. I like the windblown photos because they show your hair as it is: an accent to each day and each situation. Congratulations, and I'm so glad you found this place a year ago.
Mouse
Hi Mouse,
I am absolutely delighted that you had a chance to see my update photos, and thank you for all your kind words. It has been a genuine pleasure having you with us on the hyperboard. You have always been 100% supportive of everyone here, and you have not missed a single one of my updates. I will be following your own journey to long hair all the way, and your thick, wavy hair just keeps getting better and better with every update.
My best to you,
David
Hi David and first of all congratulations on your first year as a memeber of the MLHH and of course your phenominal progress of hair and beard growth!I am amazed at the transformation from your early pics, especially minus the beard, to your most recent ones.Awesome just awesome:) You have came a long way in a relatively short period of time and I have to say you look great. It does take a lot of determination to stick with growing longhair especially during the funky/awkward stage but you made it through all that. Also its nice you had a picture perfect day outdoors as that adds so much as well. I know that I don't need to tell you this but I'll do it anyway and that is grow that hair to your waist!!!!!!!!!!LOL.Fantastic job my friend and keep up the great work moderating this awesome board.Mark
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your very kind words about my latest photos, and I was delighted to share them with everyone here. I really have to thank all my friends here at the hyperboard for their tremendous support, without it I would not have come this far. Of course I would love to be able to grow my hair to my waist, I hope my terminal length will allow me. It has been a real pleasure getting to know you as well, and I hope Opal (I hope I remembered your kitty's name correctly) is doing well these days. I will be looking forward to meeting you on my trip in 2009.
Take care,
David
Great pics, David! Your hair has definitely grown out since you first joined MLHH. I can relate about the illusion of your hair reaching terminal length. Right when you think it's stopped growing, you start noticing things like you have to reach further when you brush it. A sign that it's still growing!
--Rick
Hi Rick,
I am delighted to see you here, it has been a little while since I have seen you on the hyperboard. Thank you for all your kind words, and I really credit the support of everyone here for the improvement in health of my hair. It's funny you mention about the brushing thing. I noticed that the other day, when I was combing the back, it WAS harder to reach the longest hairs in the back, another milestone.
It was a pleasure talking to you in chat last evening, although I REALLY need to learn to type faster, I can't keep up with everyone! One day I will get the courage to try on a kilt, it would be good for a few laughs, anyway. I'm looking forward to meeting you in 2009.
Take care,
David
Hi David,
Your hair certainly seems to have lengthened since the last update and lookd great. Also, that is a beautiful golf course. Nova Scotia I have always heard is a verdant, garden-like place, at least in the summer! Good luck with continued growth.
Bragi
Hi Matt,
Thank you for your kind words about my hair as well as my photos, and I am pleased that my hair continues to slowly get longer. Also, I am pleased to have the hair that I have at the age of 54. Nova Scotia IS a beautiful province, especially in the late summer and early fall. We have had the most amazing stretch of warm sunny days recently, and today is no exception. Some day, you might even wish to visit my fair province.
Take care,
David
Well David....
Your progress is nothing short of amazing and you "longhair-look" really suits you. It should fit into your retirement lifestyle just fine ! While you attribute the board for support, don't forget to thanks yourself for all the support and work you contribute !
Thanks for Sharing
Walter
Hi Walter,
Thank you for your kind words about my hair in my latest update, and I definitely plan to keep growing it, as long as my terminal length will allow. At least it hasn't reached that yet, as I had feared when I first joined the hyperboard last September. Of course, I was delighted to hear that you feel I have made some worthwhile contributiosn to our community, and really appreciate those words!
Take care,
David
Hello David !
that's again a great update, your combo hair+beard fit you very well and your hair is looking greater and greater everytime you post a new update !
when you look at the 2 last picture you can see the progress you did since you found mlhh, in the most recent picture your hair look thicker and shinier.
You don't even need to use a straightener anymore since your hair is now a lot more straight that is was before !
Cya
My hair journal
Hi Angel,
I am delighted that you had a chance to see my latest photos, and thank you for your words of encouragement. I really have to improve the improvement in my hair to the support I have received from this wonderful community, and you have been no exception. I don't think you have missed any of my updates, and I appreciate it!
Actually, the starightness of my hair depends on the humidity. On dry days, it is fairly straight, with some curls/waves on the ends, but on warm and humid days, it is almost curly.
I am looking forward to your next update as well, keep those curls growing!
Take care,
David
Your update, David, of course! Running a day late here. It looked like a picture perfect day for you, blue sky, lush greenery, some wind to blow your hair around a bit. (I was expecting an Urban Cowboy type pic with hair blowing across your face, but I guess it either didn't get that windy, or you had your face into the wind. Hahaha!) And YOU look very happy with your progress. Not sure why you ever bothered with straightening irons, as your hair looks just fine as it is. Just a bit of curl on the ends. Mine has some waves on my ends. Though if it gets really humid, they start to spiral up the length of my hair, and it will look like I have a head full of waves. Hair can do different things, why mess with nature?
Anywho, your hair looks good, so what if it's not super thick, super-straight, etc. I've come to terms with my ultra-fine, thin hair. We can't all have the nice thick hair of our youth (though we can dream), so we make do with what we have. I have loads of baby hairs sticking up from the crown of my head. After recovering from loss due to thyroiditis, I am treasuring them, even if they are annoying as they look like antennaes beaming info to Mars. A wee bit of finishing spray will tame that.
Be happy with what you have, even if your terminal lenght isn't as long as where you'd like it to be. Because at your age, so many men don't even have what you have. You've at least got a head of hair, and you can keep on growing until nature puts a halt to it. Hair is really the blessing of youth, and when it should be grown and enjoyed the most. Once we reach middle-aged and beyond, if we still have a decent head of hair, we are doubly-blessed. So count your blessings, and be grateful to your Creator for the gift of being able to maintain your long hair.
Hugs to you,
Carol
Hi Carol,
I was delighted that you had a chance to pop in and see my update! I was concerned that it would have scrolled down too far by the time you had a chance to see it. I think Saturday was a poor time to post it, as I realize that a lot of the "regulars" who post to the hyperboard are not around at this time of the week. Next time, I will try to post my update in mid week.
Thank you for all your kind words, and yes, I realize that I should consider myself lucky to have the hair I have. When I see guys in their 20's already balding (one of my co-workers is nearly bald at 30, but he is content, and just shaves his head), I really count my blessings. Although there is some thinning at the temples, and the crown, for the most part this thinning is fairly minor and not obviuos in my photos. I pray it does not get too much worse. (I am taking Propecia to slow down/halt the thinning)
As for terminal length, I don't think it has stopped growing yet. In the past 11 months, it has probably grown around 4 to 5 inches, a litttle on the slow side, but not far below the average. The bottom picture in the update was taken last October, and the other photos 11 months later. Perhaps waist length is unrealistic, and mid back may be more of what I can expect, but I will be trying my best to grow it as long as I can.
I would also like to add that it has been a real pleasure having you with us on the hyperboard, and your presence here is valued very highly indeed!
My very best to you, and many hugs as well,
David
Wow, David!
Your hair is fuller and longer than ever! (ANd you once thought you had already hit terminal length...). Even the ponytail seems to have a thicker base than I recall from earlier pictures. Hardly a scientific quantification, I know, but I am really just stating that I am happy for you and want to share in the celebration of what you've accomplished so far.
Congrats, David!
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
Hi Shawn,
Thank you for your kind words about my update, and I am delighted that you did not miss it as it has scrolled down the board quite a bit. I really credit the improvement in my hair to the tremendous support that I have received from my fellow hyperboard members. In fact, when I joined I really did think I had reached terminal length (bottom photo in update), as my hair had not changed in length in the past 8 months, and I had a photo taken the previous December that was nearly the same length. I think the straightening I was doing was breaking the ends off constantly. Thankfully, my hair is growing after all.
Take care,
David
Hi David! wow! Your hair is looking super! Great update and yet further inspiration for me. Looks like you were getting great weather there, enjoy it while it lasts. Thanks for sharing and for your moderating expertise with this site. Keep it growing as you say; looks terrific!
Cheers, Max
PS If you plan on a trip to CA in '09, let me know. I'll show you some of the wonderful sights of northern CA.
Hi Max,
I am delighted that you had a chance to see my latest update, as it has scrolled down the board quite a ways by now. Thank you for your very kind words, and I am flattered to serve as an inspiration. I really could not have come this far without the support of this awesome community.
Of course I would be thrilled to meet you on my road trip in 2009. I hope to meet most of the "San Francisco gang", and it would be VERY cool to squeeze in a trip to Northern California, meet you, and see some of that gloriuos scenery.
Cheers,
David
Yeah, DavidN, don't know exactly why they weren't comin' in the first time, but your plethora of photos is every reason TO celebrate, for your progress is truly excellent. First of all, may I applaude the photos themselves; the colour reproduction, lighting, and resolution are excellent. I can feel the wind itself as it moves the clouds and animates your hair! But your hair has regained its own waves, too, after your past straightening efforts, even returning to its curliness as it reposes on your shoulders.
Congratulations, DavidN, congratulations. Truly well worth the persistence. AND, your beard's growth is commendable, too. After months of start-stopping, stop-starting, I'm finally committing my efforts to growin' my beard anew. Remember, ya served as the inspiration for me yourself. That may be because I see some of my family's resemblance in you, French, English, Scots-Irish (a/k/a/ Ulster-Scots), and some other royal European bloodline.
Anyway, great work, DavidN, and thanks for posting all the enjoyable photos. I STILL can't figure out why the first photo postings wouldn't "reveal" on my Mac Os X. Yeesh! Any insights? You are, after all, a scientist.
Best reg(u)ards always in longhaired camaraderie,
Quenyan the Congratulatory
Hi Quenyan,
I am delighted that you had a chance to see my photos, and thank you for your most wonderful post! Actually, I would not blame your computer at all. In my original posting, above, I attached the wrong links from my photobucket account, and that is why there were no pictures, only X's. In my second posting, I fixed the links, so the pictures showed.
Of course I really have to thank my fellow hyperboard members for encouraging me all the way, and for helping my hair to become both healthier and longer. Before I ditched the straightening irons a year ago, my hair was badly damaged, and I had thought it had stopped growing.
Of course, I am flattered that I could serve as an inspiration in your own beard growing journey. Hopefully, you can update us on your progress as time goes on, both for your hair and beard. We will be sure to offer words of encouragement to you as you continue your hair and beard growing journeys.
That is VERY cool that you have all these European roots. My mom was Scottish, and was born in Edinburgh, Scotand, and her dad was from France. My dad was Canadian, and the family tree goes back along ways in Canada. But his descendants came to Canada from England back in the 1700's.
Thanks again, and take care,
David
. . . I especially perceive the Scots and French lineage, being all that and more my(s)elf. The colour and strength of your hair and mine is one of their intermarried traits, me being the great grandson of an Old World Quebecian great grandmother, Elisabeth Moaquin, and Scotsman, Thomas Watson, on me father's side. Ace, man, ace! You rock. We're too smart for our own good, aren't we?!
So, yeah, David, you're more than welcome as I see the resolute fighter in a longhaired (and, it goes without saying, bearded) fighter spirit in you as it is manifest within me. Takes one to know one, as the adage goes. Thanks for your support and THANK YOU for yours as it is given, too. I'll be certain to post my progress shots here soon. You're a font of inspiration.
Yours in longhaired camaraderie,
Quenyan
Hi David,
Wow has it really been a year, since you first posted and that's gone really quickly and the update pictures are great. There is certainly a marked difference and your hair and beard look in amazing condition. Like I said before it's great that Bill inspired you to grow a beard and it really suits you and do keep it growing.
Since you arrived you have been a great inspiration and given a positive contribution and advice to people growing their out in a world that can be very negative to people like us with longhair and thanks again "dad".
We look forward to and hope to see your updates for next year and of course the eagerly awaited trip that you are planning for 2009!
Keep it growing.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi John,
Thank you for your very kind words about my update! I really credit the improvement in my hair to the wonderful support of all the members here at the hyperboard, and I really do give Bill credit for inspiring me to grow my first ever beard.
I also wanted to thank you for all your kind words about me as well, I really appreciate them. Again, my enthusiasm with the hyperboard can be attributed to the warmth and support I have received from my fellow members.
Hopefully, things are improving for you these days, and I am delighted to see you posting regularly to the hyperboard again.
Cheers,
David
David, looking good; making us Old Farts proud!
Hi George,
Thank you for your kind words, and what is this about "old farts" anyway, I don't think we are a day over 39! But I have to admit that I am happy to have the hair I have at the age of 54, and hope I can keep it as the years go on.
Keep it growing,
David
I've been anticipating your update and David your hair looks fantastic! There is quite a noticeable difference from just a year ago! Congratulations on this great update and one year of MLHH. You are truly A positive force here!
Keep on growin'
Bruce
Hi Bruce,
Thank you for all your kind words about my update, and I am delighted to be regarded as a positive force in this community. I really could not have come this far without the support of everyone here.
Also, I just wanted to add that I have clicked on your avatar a few times, and was amazed at your latest photos. You must have close to the fastest growing hair of anyone here, right up there with ChrisG. Your length after only 23 months is incredible, and you should be able to achieve waist length within 2 years.
Take care, and keep it growing,
David
looking great man awesome hair its healthy and shiny keep it up!
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your kind words about my hair. I will be sure to support you on your jouney to long hair, the rewards are well worth it!
Keep it growing,
David
Great pics - nice to see you looking so happy !
Hi Lawrence,
Thank you for all your kind words about my latest photos! I have to admit that I was quite happy in that outdoor photo, and may consider using it for a new avatar. I am thinking about that for now. It is hard to decide on my current "winblown" avatar, which was taken on a dull day, or my current picture of my hair in the sunshine.
Keep it growing,
David
Well, it looks like you are clicking right along there, David. It also looks like your hair has thickened up quite nicely. The Propecia has certainly made a difference. Are you still going for waist length? I don't know if mine will make it that far, however, I am really satisfied with my present length.
Kindest regards,
Jeffrey.
Hi Jeffrey,
Thank you for your kind words about my update. Although there is still some thinning in the crown, it is not that noticeable in these photos, and the thinning in my temples is fairly minor at this point, although my bangs are not very thick and grow slowly. However, I am fairly happy to have the hair I have at 54. Hopefully, the propecia can help me to keep my hair as long as possible.
I definitely plan to grow it as long as possible, waist length would be a dream come true, but may be unrealistic for me. My hair does grow slowly (I think it has grown 4 to 5 inches in the past 11 months, the bottom picture was the length last October), but thankfully it is still growing. My wet length is a lot longer than these photos would indicate, and is near mid back, but as my hair dries, due to the waves, it is shorter.
Hopefully, your hair will keep growing and your thickness will continue to improve. I remember in your last update, your crown area looked superb, and your length was at mid back, so I certainly would not give up on your goal of waist length hair.
Take care,
David
Hi David,
I just returned home from visiting my mother out of state and apon
catching up on the board saw I nearly missed your update.
Cnogratulations on your 1 year anniversary at mlhh and 41 months growth. Your hair has a fantastic shine to it and looks outstanding. Your contribution to the group is appreciated beyond
description. I recall from some of your previous posts you play golf a lot during the summer so I imagine as the weather cools your out there getting every last bit in. This last weekend was so nice
everybody and their mother was out on the roads I'm surprised the board was as busy as it was.
Again your hair is an inspriation to us all, well done.
Take care
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
I am delighted that you did not miss my update after all, and I hope you had a great visit with your mom.
I really appreciate all your kind words in your reply to my update. I could never have come this far without the tremendous support I have received from this community. When I joined last September, I was shy, posted to the board with hesitation, and had damaged hair that had shown little growth for at least the past 8 months. Now I feel much more confident in myself, my hair is recovering from the damage, and it is growing better as well.
About golfing, it is a silly game, and I am not that good at it. I just try to do the best I can, and love getting out in the fresh air for the walk in a beautiful setting, and trying to make that silly little white ball co-operate, lol! However, a few weeks ago, I had a lucky swing and got my first ever hole-in-one, a lifetime dream come true! Also, the weather has been phenomenal in Nova Scotia lately, it was in the mid 70's yesterday.
Thank you again for your words of encouragement and support, Kevin, and I am delighted to be an inspiration to others!
Take care,
David
your hair is looking fantastic! the tail looks nice, even if it is crooked (if it was in the contest, i'd give it a 9.3). nice view you have from your place! i love seeing green places like that... so pretty! thanks for sharing!
peace,
nic
Hi Nic,
I am absolutely delighted that you popped in to see my update photos. It is a genuine pleasure to have you with us on the hyperboard, and your support and encouragement to all of us is valued beyond what mere words can say.
Thank you for your kind words about all my photos. Part of the reason my ponytail was crooked was because the wind was blowing strongly from right to left, the same reason I was able to get the windblown photo, and it caused the ponytail to lean that way. The front picture was taken two days earlier, when it was less windy, and I may get Oren to use that as my new avatar.
My very best to you,
David
David, you've certainly come a long way over the past year. Congrats on that, and also your hair is looking quite good. It suits your warm personality and aesthetic features very well. =) Take care and hope everything is going well out in Nova Scotia!
-James
Hi James,
I am absolutely delighted that you were able to "catch" my update before it had scrolled down too far the page. I cannot thank you enough for your kind words to my update.
Alos, I really wanted to add that you have been one of the most valued members on the entire hyperboard. You have served as a genuine inspiration to everyone here, whether supporting more established veterans by replying to their updates, or encouraging newbies timidly growing their hair out for the first time. Also, your website is awesome! It is also a pleasure having you with us on the team.
I hope you did not mind me sending you an email this morning, but it was really something I should have done LONG ago, back when you first joined the team, so that email is 3 months late! Hopefully, you will get a chance to read it, as I know you have been busy with classes lately.
Take care, and keep it growing,
David
Splendid progress Dave! You truly are a longhair!!!
Hi Pablo,
Thank you for your kind words about my update, and I am quite pleased with how things are going right now.
Try not to get too discouraged about your own growth, your hair looks fabulous right now. Remember, it is still growing!
Take care,
David
Wow, looks great David! 41 months, that's great length for that period of time. I like the backgrounds you chose for the photos as well, looks amazing! The weather does indeed look good as well!
Nova Scotia? I had no idea that's where you're from!
Hi Peg,
Thank you for your kind words about my update, and for your words of encouragement about my progress. Actually, my hair would probably be even longer if I had not damaged it earlier on, since I probaly lost close to a year's growth because my hair was not growing for a large part of 2006 (atraightening damage), and really only started to grow properly again late last year.
Perhaps one day you will have the opportunity to visit my beautiful province of Nova Scotia. This is the best time of year weatherwise, and we have had the most amazing stretch of sunny days lately.
Keep ai growing,
David
