I've been growing my hair for 6 months from a shaved head, and it's around 3.25 inches. Frankly, I'm desperate to make it grow faster -- I'm required to have shoulder length hair in a years time for an undisclosed reason -- what is the shortest length one's hair has to be in order to acheive a marginal long haired look?
By marginal long hair, I mean for it to touch the shoulders, not necessarily from the bangs, but the length at the lowest hair point.
It depends how long your neck is. Measure the lowest point that your hair grows at your nape of the neck to the top of your shoulders. For most men it would be 4 to 5 inches. If your hair now (all over) is 3.25 inches, your hair will probably be (in six more months) about 3 inches below your earlobe and your bangs touching (or below) your mouth. Hair grows an average of 1/2 inch a month, so your present six months growth of 3.25 inches puts you where you should be. In another six months you should have a total of six inches of hair -- just, for heaven's sake, don't cut it! -- If you're going for maximum length in a year's time a trim would defeat the purpose. Good luck.
Hey there I just had a quick question.....I have decided to grow my hair,it has been around 4 months now that I havent cut it. I wanted to new type of look and some my girl friends have been telling me to get cornrows done. I just wanted to know some information and cornrows, like how long does it have to be? or maybe some type of instructions I could follow to do it. I just thought it would look different...for a white guy to have this done. Thanks
