Hello all. I am so glad I found this site! I am 30 years old and have had bald or buzzcut my whole life. I finally decided it was time for me to live life like I want instead of conforming to what society thinks. The last haircut(razor shave actually)I got was 6 months ago. I have not used any hair dyes or bleach. This is my natural color. It is at that stage where about all I can do is comb it down and shake my head like a dog LoL. I don't have any questions, I just needed a place to keep me going and it seems like I have found it. My only complaint is when I ride my motorcycle I wear a hat backwards with a skullcap helmet. This tends to lead to me looking like Bozo the Clown on the sides and back when I get off Hahahahaha. Oh well, this is too long already, so you guys tell me what you think and give me any constructive crtisism you may have!

Isn't it great to take control of your life and do what YOU want? That was my attitude as well, only I waited until the age of 41 to grow it really long. I think you'll find that the members here will offer you a ton of advice as well as compliments. So hang in there...the Bozo look is the part of the journey known as the awkward stage. Once that is over, you can really enjoy your hair!

Wow what a great handle as well as an honerable profession assuming that is your real line of work.Anyway I saw the pic that Bill posted of you and I have to say so far your hair looks great!Very blonde and seems to be in great condition.Just give it a chance to grow out more before making any final decisions about how you like having long hair.I think you have a lot of potential there as it should look awesome as the length increases.I guess at this time you probably have no goal length yet but if you do what may that be?Mark
Mark, I work 50 hours a week as a pharmacy tech and do firefighting completely volunteer. I probably average about 140 calls a year to structure fires, car wrecks, etc. At this point I don't have a goal since I have never seen my hair even this long. All I know is that I love it, so I am just going to keep on keeping on.
Welcome to the site fire_rescue! What is it about some people that they go for hair extremes lol, so many people here seem to go from shave/buzzcut to long hair that both of these styles certainly must have something in common? :)
Starting to grow your hair out at 30 is quite young and its good you are doing it now so you have all the more years to enjoy it later. You have a most awesome hair color and man it sure looks healthy and very cool now. Look below at use Neo's posts, looks like you will have the same super quality long hair he has in time, quite an enviable position :)
Keep on growing that fantastic hair and hang out here for inspiration and whatever lol, we talk about all kinds of things here actually.

Well Chris G, for me it was about individuality. You see I live in Kentucky in the good old USA. I am smack dab in the middle of the Bible Belt. People with long hair are sometimes frowned upon so I decided that if short was the way I was going to go, then I was going to do it to the point that I wouldn't look like everybody else walking down the street. That was the reason for me going bald. So in a way a think you are corect about these two hairstyles having something in common. I hope this made sense! LoL

First of all, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to you, and am delighted that you have found the hyperboard. You have a great start to a fantastic head of hair, and your hair colour is outstanding.
The best advice I can give is just to avoid the scissors! Keep it growing, amd pop in to post regular updates. We will be sure to support you in your goal to long hair, and the rewards are well worth it.

Eeeeeck! You've been hiding that super straight, lovely blonde locks under buzz cuts? I'm so glad your letting it grow. Buzzing it off was the equivalent of hiding a lamp under a bushel basket. You didn't see the shining light of your blonde locks. Let is shine, and let it flow like lava, as long as you want to go. Your going to have one heck of a head of hair, once you get passed shoulder-length.
