How many times do you guys wash your hair a week?
I used to wash it everyday but i heard that was unhealthy..
Also, i've seen hair that is very healthy.. and i want to know how you guys keep it healthy.. because im kind of new to this
I wash my hair every morning and before I go to bed, unless I am driving really hard, in which case I usually just wash it as soon as I can. If I don't wash and condition my hair I get a lot of tangles and it begins to smell very musky.
Like a muskrat.
Jeffrey.
I wash once every 2 days.
I wash about once every two weeks. Clearly it varies a lot between everyone here! I just avoid washing my hair unless I need to - if it gets too oily, or if it starts to smell musky (as Jeffrey said.) The only time washing would be bad or too frequent is when you do it out of habit, and not out of need!
I wash mine very often Billybob. There is no way I can go more than 3 days without washing it in this humid weather. If I do, I usually end up with severe tangles and knots.
Hi Billybobjohn,
On the average, I wash with shampoo once about every 4 days, and do conditioner only washes on most of the other days. There tends to be one or perhaps 2 days a week when I give my hair a day off and do nothing.
Hope this helps,
David
I was mines usually every day, if not at least once every couple of days. Its just that here in London the dust proportion is high when travelling on public transport, so I find it quite important to wash mines every morning before classes and condition it.
Simple, Billybobjohn, everyone has different requirements. I've fallen into shampooing and conditioning w/ my all-time favorite brand, Main 'n Tail, first developed for horse groomers (!) but then re-marketted for us two-leggeds, every other day. Because of a history of seborrhea, folliculitis, and "the heartbreak of psoriasis", I make sure one of those shampooings ALSO includes a treatment w/ Selsun Blue, which contains the mineral selenium, that has been proven to stop minor skin diseases such as mine. Sometimes, I do what DavidN does, skip the shampooing and only opt for the conditioner wash alone. BTW, DavidN, I'm sorry I (my Mac, that is) can't access your progress shots; the thumbnail avatars just begin to show but before they automatically "reveal", poof!, they disappear altogether, so, I have all this well-worded text by you w/o the attendant editorial photos. Computer virus ya think?
Anway, Billybobjohn, back to my hair maintenance technique. I always only towel dry, never using a hair dryer. No, not ever. Then, once it's sufficiently dry enough, I use a boar's bristle brush, maybe followed by a wide toothed comb, maybe. But the boar's bristle brush is the least damaging to one's hair, and brings out the skin oils that keep your hair in good shape.

I wash 2-3 times a week, always with Shampoo & conditioner (no 2in1 products). Best advice for healthy hair is to wash it as infrequently as it is higenically possible and whenever you wash condition, it makes combing your hair easier and this prevents damage.
I wash mine almost everyday 5 or 6 out of 7, but I condition everytime as well and my hair is fine.

I shampoo mine about once every three to four days and always follow up with conditioner. Everyone is different though. There are board members that shampoo daily without conditioner, guys who go for over a week, and even some people that sport lovely manes without using any shampoo at all. You routine will probably need to be adjusted as your hair gets longer. When I started, I had to shampoo daily or my hair just felt horrible and oily. Last winter I started shampooing every-other day with great results. Experiment.

about 4 times a week with decent conditioner.for me ive noticed healthier hair when i eat very well/fruit/veg..and lean protein too.
I shampoo and wash mine every 3 4 days. Once a month I deep condition it. I do this on my monthly anniversary of growing.
Summer is coming in Australia now so that may change.
