I had some intersting advice from the guy who trims (yes I know that's not usual) my hair - which was not to condition all of it but just the ends. This he said is because my hair is naturally very oily and doesn't need it. Anyway I am going to try that for a while. It will soon be my two year anniversary and I am going to press on for another year at least. Who knows maybe I'll even try for terminal one time before I lose it all. It is getting a little thinner but hey, who cares. Its not the end of the world.....
Hello sir, i have never sene you before, though i have only been on here since june. Nice to meet you.
I have heard of that method, i think it has been mentioned on here quite often..
see you
Your hair looks great, if you have naturally oily hair then it actually conditions itself, which is great for keeping it healthy. However, the longer your hair gets the less of your scalps natural oils travel/are combed down to the tips so this effect doesn't last until terminal length.
We should do a survey, but I'm willing to bet people with oily hair have an easier "awkward stage" compared to those with dry hair.
Looks like great progress for 22 months! I've been using Garnier Fructis volumizing conditioner since my hair is of the thinner variety. I wash it every other day or three and apply the conditioner only after I shampoo. I tried water rinse only for a few weeks a while back, but it gets too oily and messy. Anyway, go for terminal!

You have the right attitude in my book go for terminal if you feel like it. I myself have very oily hair and wash often and I used to condition just the ends but now condition all of it for easier combing. I don't like the look of my hair when it's oily eventhough I know the oil is good for it.
The most important thing is have fun growing it.
Kevin
Hey Thorn'ster: Congrats on the upcoming anniversary. The hair looks great and I'm glad to hear you're going for another year. I'm just a couple months ahead of you and really looking forward to another year of growth. My hair is thiner than it once was too and I like your attitude. You're right, it's not the end of the world and it would be thiner short or long so why not be LONG! Keep enjoying the journey brother. Bruce'ster
Hi firethorn,
I am delighted taht you plan to continue growing your hair for another year, and your hair looks great now. There is no way that a little thinning should deter us from growing our hair long, and I have some thinning of my own. Everyone's hair is different. As mine is fairly dry, I have to condition frequently, and also have to limit shapoos to a couple of days a week, othewise my hair would be too dry. However, if your hair is more oily, obviously you will require more freqent shampoos, and less conditioner.
Keep it growing,
David
Hey, what a great start. Keep it up, it sure gets easier after shoulder length! (imo)
And I like your attitude. Meh, who cares, right? Keep growing! =)
It certainly isn't the end of the world, many men would give their right arm to have hair as cool as yours. Keep it growing!!
Regards Dave
