A belated thanks to all who commented and replied to my 2 recent posts that are now WAAAY down the page...
A special thanks to all who responded to my pic and post about deciding to stay with terminal length as my goal for now!!
Re. my thread about the Redwood trees, some of you had a question or 2, or other specific comment I'll reply to now. Here goes, as best as I can remember, in no special order...
Lawrence: Enjoy your new Redwood trees wallpaper!
Zack: Yes, that drive-through tree is still very much alive! Google the name, "Chandler Tree" (or, "Chandler Drive-through Tree"), --- or, if that doesn't work, try: "Avenue of the Giants"... You'll probably be rewarded with better pics of that tree!
Justin: I couldn't agree with you more about the impact of being in a Redwood forest... it is VERY humbling (and in my case, I especially enjoy the fact that it makes me feel VERY thin again - lol)!!
Tristan: Many thanks for the kind comments!
Trolleypup: Great pic of you with that Sequoia, --- and I'd say that your mane is one of MLHH's "Giant Sequoias!"
Elizabeth: I agree!!
Antesse: Your comment about prairie grasses reminds me about my favorite book on Ornamental Grasses that I have in my collection of Horticulture and Gardening books. In it the author made the comment, "Grasses are the hair of of the Earth"...
Angel: Be careful about planting a Redwood tree in a pot for your balcony. They start out cute & small; but, over time, they can get VERY big.... the tallest living Coast redwood tree currently being 379.1 feet (115.55 m.)!!!!!!!
And a big THANKS to everyone else who also replied, --- I much appreciate it!

As frequently can happen in the Redwoods, the nearby coastal fog in the morning can be so thick as to drip big water drops, --- which may have landed on my camera lense, causing the blur to the right of this pic.... No matter: I like the shot, anyway, --- enjoy!

Gorgeous and such an artistic photo Ken. You are just so great with a camera. Takes a real knack (and not just everybody can do it) to take photos as well as yours.
Is there an exibit coming-up yet of your photos? If not, there
should be. I think your works would be WELL received.
Thanks so much Ken for posting what you did the other day. :-)
Take care-
Justin~
Hello,
don't worry i'm not going to plant a Redwood tree since i don't think i will one here but i will plant a Maritime Pine that is more common here ^^

My hair journal
We have a friend in Berlin, Germany, who brought a redwood back home from California and planted it in his back yard. When we visited him it was several years old and was about 2 meters tall. My guess is that a redwood would grow in France. But plant it in the ground! Redwoods grow a bit big for pots.
Bill
So Bill, Can we assume that you are almost as
wide as a redwood and not quite as tall! lol

Bill
Bill, Yes I did!
