Howdy - I'm toying with the idea of letting my hair grow out - I am a month away from a pretty short cut. I have fairly thick hair but with a receding hairline - not bad, but I am conscious of it. Was wondering how Tom Cruise got that MI2 look and and how to best move my hair to there. A rough timeline might be motivational, too!

His hair is a pretty standard long hair style. Just don't cut your hair and in about a year and a half it will probably be that long. Some of your hair may be that long before then, but it takes extra time for all you hair to be that length. Also keep in mind that before every scene in that movie, he had a team of hair stylist working on his hair for hours probably. So don't be frustrated if you can't get it exactly like that. You also may want to get a picture of his hair from the movie, and in about a year and a half, go to a good hairstylist, show her the picture and say that's what you would like, you probably don't have hair exactly like Cruise's, but a good hairstylist should be able to get it close, and also tell you how to fix it.
