Hey Guys:
I've been growing now for a year and 2 months and my hair is only down to the bottom of my neck...when wet!:( I'm getting very discouraged as former long hairs have told me they grew mid back hair in a year and a half and i'm four months away from that point. Plus even after a year and 2 months people say I have a mullet or "hockey hair" even when my bangs and sides are at my chin. Which brings me to the question of the subject of the post is this normal???

if your bangs come as far down as your chin, and the longest part of your hair is only at your neck, I would not call that a mullet. Sounds like you're just working your way out of the awkard stage - and there's nothing wrong with that."Normal" growth rate is supposed to be somewhere around half an inch per month (1 inch = aprox. 2.54 cm, so .5in = aprox 1.27cm), some people are lucky and have hair that grows much faster, others have hair that grows slower than that. An individual's growth rate is determined by their genetics, so while good nutrition (etc) can improvea person's growth rate, there's really no "secret" to super fast growth (sorry) - you'll just have to continue being patient with your hair. Try not to get too discouraged, you've still got more hair than most guys, and as long as you don't cut it it will keep getting longer. As for the guys who got mid-back length hair in a year and a half... well either they're exaggerating, have very lucky genes, or they know something about speeding up hair growth that many people on this board - myself included - would love to find out. It might be worth it to try biotin and/or fo-ti supplements for a while, some people claim to have gotten good results taking them, others say that they couldn't see any difference. I guess it's worth a try if you're willing to part with the cash.
