Hello people!
I'm uploading a growth update!. The images speak for themselves but this is what I made:
1. Ponytail, that's how I usually wear it.
2. Front Picture of Ponytail.
3. I removed the Ponytail. At the ends the hair curls upwards!. What can I do about that?. I hate it just too much!. That's what keeps me from wearing it lose, it keeps curling and puffing too much. Any suggestions?.
4. This is how it looks on the back. I wave some waving on the hair, I thought it was normal, but when I tie the ponytail it seems the place the ponytail grabs the hair is the one waving too hard to unwave when loose. I have the fantasy the ponytail breaks or forces the hair into waving losing its natural growth. Any suggestions?.
5. Half-Tail. I love it but... IT CURLS ON THE END!. Giving it a pretty weird look. It goes "U" shaped at the end. I haven't found a way to make it look different!.
That's all for now folks.

All of us with wavy hair suffer this problem, you tie a ponytail and it puts a kink in your hair, and your current length it means an outwards curl when you let it loose.
Several things can help.
1) Extra length helps pull out the kink on some people's hair (not mine).
2) Don't tie the ponytail quite so tight or use a thicker hair band. Difficult at your stage because thicker hair bands look wrong and looser hair ties don't keep your hair "safe"
3) All else fails resort to straightening your hair.
5. Half-Tail. I love it but... IT CURLS ON THE END!. Giving it a pretty weird look. It goes "U" shaped at the end. I haven't found a way to make it look different!.
Given the length of your hair, this is exactly how a half tail is meant to look - absolutely perfect!
i happen to like it when a guy's hair gets to the flippy stage. it adds character. embrace and love it - in six months you'll forget all about it.
peace,
nic
Hello Nic!
Thank you!. Yes, I kinda freaked out with loose hairs on the top but I got used to it, I guess I'll get use to the flip thing too. And when it's longer it won't look that bad. I just can't wait... :S
Restav,
Welcome to the awkward stage!
But really . . . it looks super great on you! Don't worry so much about the waves and curls. They look good. They are all about the real you.
I'm trespassing on the awkward phase myself. I'm learning, as you'll have to also, to "be at peace" with my hair. I almost think of it as a roomate. I've got to learn to cope with its little idiosyncrasies and realize that it is a wild beast that will not be domesticated. So, instead I focus on the good of it, and change my outlook about it. It's actually quite liberating to understand that YOU are being trained to live for what's real and reject any criticism that would lead you to artificiality.
Good luck!

Hello Banana,
I feel I was born on the akward stage!... sometimes I just get crazy about getting out of it fast!. And you are right about being trained out of superficiality. That was great to read!.

Not to worry -- When it grows about a foot more, it'll hang just fine. In fact, with your volume, it should be awesome.
I'll post for sure pictures when I reach that lenght! :)
Hi Restav,
What a fabulous update. Your hair is thick and healthy, and looks to be in great condition. Also, you have a superb beard.
As for your concerns about the waves, normally, as hair gets longer, the weight of the hair tends to straighten them to some degree, but there is a chance that you may have naturally wavy hair, so some of them will remain. However, that long wavy or curly hair can look awesome, so try not to get frustrated, just keep up the great growth!
Keep it growing,
David
Hello David,
At first I was kind of sad because my hair didn't turn out to be straight, but I faced it, I will never have a japanasse-straight-hair! :P
I like it wavy, I just can't wait to see it longer!. But I'll keep growing and taking care of it!. I'll post pictures in a few months :P
Hey Res. ...
Looking good man. As David said .. the waves tend to calm down some with length ... at least mine are just starting to do that ... only on some days though..
Keep up your progress and we'll be there before we know it..
Take Care...
Tristan
Hi Restav,
I think your hair looks great as it is. Unfortunatley there probably isnt much you can do about that curl at the end beside let it grow further. I wouldnt recommend straightening, if I were you I'd try to get used to it. Actually, your hair reminds me a lot of my hair when I started growing my hair : )
Neil
I agree with everyone, be patient. As it get longer that curling will disappear. Mine did. Lookin' great, btw!
Bruce
Lookin real good! Especially that half-tail:)

Hi Restav,
You've already gotten some excellent replies, and I definitely agree with the others, --- I think your hair is looking GREAT!!
Enduring the awkward stages is mostly a test of patience, and getting used to the fact that your hair almost has a, "mind of its own (lol)!! The quickest way to get through it is to just keep letting it grow, uninterrupted. However, not everyone is able to tolerate some of the crazy things one's hair will do during this time; so, if you get to a point when/if you can no longer stand it, rather than cut it back to short, try instead going in for a modest trim and re-shaping, --- it's the lesser of 2 evils, in my opinion. But again, if you can get by with waiting until it grows considerably longer, in the long run you'll get to where you want to with your hair far quicker.
Hope that helps!

I think the halftail is lovely, and I don't think the curl at the end looks bad in any way. Keep it growing!

Hey I don't know the sloution to your curl problem but
at least it's in a tail and it looks good. I imagine in time it will stop the curl as it lengthens and gets heavier.
Kevin
Your hair has made outstanding progress restav. Don't worry too much about the puffiness and whatnot. As your hair gets longer it'll definitely calm down and relax. Keep it growing
Don't worry man, its still pretty short and short curls are always the worst to manage. Like everyone else said..give it time and they'll slowly calm down and it'll be like they never were a problem.

Hey Restav, all is looking very well sir! Do you put your hair in a ponytail when it is damp or still wet? when i do this i too get flippy curls at the end and i look like Shirley Temple. But to be honest I don't think they look bad its just one of the things you have to go through until it grows past the shoulders.
You ahve a superb beard too!!
Cheers Dave
