Hi Jin,
I wanted to say how cool I think your pictures are when you post your updates here. I was wondering if you have ever thought about making a website to showcase your hair. It would be interesting to analyze your progress pics over months to see how far you have come. It wouldn't have to be a fancy site, just a place to post some pics with some brief commentary.
Just a thought,
Stan
Stanley, thank you very much for your compliments. It would be quite a nice thing if I could do that. Personally, I had quite a handful of my pics saved in a personal hard disk but I have yet found the time and interest to learn how to set up a website (although I know that it is becoming easier and more convenient these days). Hence, having my own "hairsite" is still a thought on hold.
Currently, I simply found it convenient to "borrow" this site to display my pics. Sheesh, after your recommendation, I guess I must be more proactive in learning the "how tos" on website building.
Any teachers around :)) ??
Ashamedly and Lazily,
jin
Hi Jin,
I would be glad to help for free. If interested let me know,
Thanks,
Kyle
There are still a number of places that offer web space for free. I have found Geocities to be an easy place to build a site.
Just go to Yahoo, click on Geocities and you can create an account. There are some tutorials available or you can just click on the Yahoo pagebuilder and go from there. You're presented with options of uploading pictures, creating text and others. You can also create links if you want to create thumbnail images to link to larger images.
Geocities has come up with an annoying "data transfer" limit so if you have a large number of hits at once some people may not be able to immediately access your site. It is quite rare this happens though.
also-- you can't link to images on yahoo and post them here.
Actually, it happens a lot to people who mention their site on here or on other web boards. I've see it interfere with my viewing more often than not. Their "data transfer" limit is set very low. What it means is when you've done something cool and there's lots of interest in your site, the one time you really want people to see it, no one can. What a drag!
Doing what they do is dumb since the whole purpose of Geocities is to get people to look at pages there so they will see the ads. It would be like TV stations canceling their most popular shows. Duh.
