Hey board, I decided to post an update to demonstrate that I am really growing out the hair. I'll probably only post an update once every three or four months, since I don't want to overburden the poor MLHH server (and I feel foolish posting too many pics of my Johnny Everyman mug) :)
and to cap things off, the best picture I could take of a rather lethargic bunny that hopped into my backyard two evenings ago (hey, I figured a picture of a hare wouldn't be too off topic!)
Thanks to all board members, and congrats to everyone who posted an update lately. Everything is looking exquisite!
Peace,
Ryan
Ryan, Cool color and curls!
peace, jonalbear
hey dude your hair is looking awesome! the longer its getting the more even out it looks, and it looks great keep it growing dude! :)
Hi Ryan
Looks really great to me. I don't think that you can over-post.
Like the bunny too - I have a hedgehog looking in my window as I type this, waiting for its' cat food. Sorry that I haven't the technology to photograph it (some of us are a bit primitive here!)
All the best
Jonathan
Hair is looking good, Ryan!
Don't worry about that! We have 100 GB of monthly transfer, and we only use about 25 GB of it. LINKED photos don't impact our transfer anyway - your photos are being drained off of Photobucket.
The only concern anyone should have when it comes to "overburdening", therefore, is whether one might overburden the users. You certainly aren't boring us with posts of your mug, so don't worry about that either!
Bill
I'm very impressed. Those are some awesome thick curls you have there. Like Bill said, don't hesitate to post updates more frequently, such as once a month.
Hey Ryan, its looking great! The curls and texture look fantastic and it will only get better as it gets longer! I would be happy to see frequent updates from you.
Your brother in waviness,
Allen
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for sharing your update and you hair looks amazing and great to see such thick hair and very curly to. I'm sure you are very proud of what you have achieved so far. Look forward to the next update and keeping it growing.
Cheers,
John.B
In case anybody is interested, I am currently at 16 months of growth from nearly a buzz cut (although maybe a tad longer on the top). I'd definitely place my growth rate at squarely 1/2 an inch per month.
Thanks a million to all who replied thus far, and thanks for the encouraging words, they're greatly appreciated!
hey, nice mane, your hair is similar to mine .. i don't have many good pictures but here is one at least, i'm at 15 months from a buzz cut
Hey, cool hair. It bears a resemblance to the hair of David Patrick Kelly's character in the Warriors (1979). Check it out, great film (if you haven't already).
Curls are looking good, once the front gains some length its gonna be very metal.
Awesome hair man, has anyone ever suggested that you grew a beard? Specifically a goatee I think thats what its called (just hair on the chin) It'd look really good on you. Anyways keep it growing.
-animosity
Well, I experimented with facial hair rather briefly this past summer, and while it didn't look completely awful, it wasn't quite thick enough for me to stick with. A goatee will definitely be an option for the future. Thanks for the reply!
Excellent, you have a wonderful 'mop' Ryan.
superb 'hare' indeed, it must make you 'hopping mad' untangling the curls, if you have any tips I'm all 'ears' to hear that 'rare-bit' of info.
~ Dave
Dave, you make my attempts at puns seem barely adequate. Well-played, well-played....
Hey man, cool hair Ryan! Those curls are very cool and give you a great look. You definitely don't look Jounny Everyman to me lol, they aren't nearly so interesting, or hairy :)
I also don't like to post very often because hair doesn't change that much in a month and I hate to bore people that way. Seems people enjoy the pics more when they appear less often lol.
Congrats on your great first update!
Long(eared) hare pictures are OK here too :)
Your hair is fantastic!! When I see someone with hair like yours it still mazes me to hear of people who dont like curly hair. The same applies to straight hair also (ie. want wavy/curly hair), but when I see someone who is genuinly happy with their hair, such as you, it makes me happy.
You hair is comming along nicely.
peace
clayton
Hi Ryan,
Your curly hair is outstanding. You have the most thick, shiny, and vibrant curls, and your hair is a genuine testimony how awesome long curly hair can look. Be sure to keep it growing!
All the best,
David
Hi again, Ryan,
I was wondering if you have ever considered trying a beard. I posted my 41 month update which is further down the board, I think you missed it. The beard that I have now is the first one I have ever grown in my life, and I started growing it in January. I am delighted how it has tuned out. It was Bill who inspired me to grow one.
Take care,
David
Hi David, thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to reply to your recent update, but I have to say your hair and beard are coming along wonderfully!
As far as facial hair goes, I'll probably give a beard or a goatee another try in the next few months, although my facial hair prowess is still lacking at this point. See ya around!
Hi Ryan,
Thank you for your kind words about my hair and beard. Just try not to get discouraged if the beard does not work out as well as you would like on the first try, as beard growth tends to be thicker with a few more years on the clock.(and I certainly DO have plenty of years on the clock, lol!) Your hair looks great whether you have a beard or no beard.
Take care,
David
Hey, Ryan. The curls are looking superb. Your hair is doing great so far. You have one great, thick, and curly mane my friend, I can't wait to see how it'll look passed shoulder length. I bet the detangling process must be hell! My hair isn't as curly as yours and I loathe hopping into the shower to detangle. very time consuming and frustrating! Just Hang in there, Keep it growing, and make sure to keep the conditioner and draino handy. Take it easy.
BTW, Nice Bunny!
Haha, thanks! Your last update was awesome too!
Well, it only takes about 10-15 minutes to detangle prior to washing, and thankfully I haven't experienced much breakage at all yet. I guess I lucked out in that regard.
Thanks, Ryan! Thats more or less what it takes me. 15-20 minutes tops. By the way, I noticed the Spanish flag on your fridge. cool!
I have one on my fridge too but it doesn't have the bull though.
Wow, your hair will look even more fantastic as it gets longer. It must look quite a bit longer when wet I bet!
MattT
Hey Ryan,
I like the curls, --- and your hair looks incredibly healthy, thick, and so full!!! You're one lucky longhair, having such a fine mane to work with! Keep i growing!

Coming along nicely Ryan, great curls!
Bruce
Thanks to everyone who replied at this point! I can say for sure that the MLHH is one of my favorite communities on the Web.
Peace,
Ryan
Longer hair really works for you, Ryan. Those curls will be awesome as they continue to grow. Take care! =)
-James
Thanks James! I really dig your recent update photos on your site, all is coming along excellently!
Ryan
Hi Ryan
Nice update from the kitchen, your hair looks great as it is now if you decided on keeping that length but of course will look better longer.
Take care
Kevin
Its funny that you mention that, since I think people I know actually prefer my hair at this length as opposed to when I kept it shorter. I'm not too sure how they'll like it if its about twice this length, but I bet I can win them over! Thanks Kevin!
Ryan ...
Your hair looks nice.. the curls are very well defined and your color and texture are great. You shouldn't have any problems growing really long. Keep up the great work..
Tristan
Hey Tristan, thanks for the reply! By the way, your recent photo really demonstrated your progress, and it looks fabulous! See ya around.
Those thick curls are quite nice. It's looking less awkward, now that you are getting some length to it. You might need a new avatar soon.
Carol
I'll think about sending Oren a new picture sometime soon. Thanks Carol!
