Bill D, Trolleypup, DaveDecker, and Absalom in Tilden Park
Hi Trolleypup,
Looking superb there guys! Hopefully, I will get a chance to meet some of you in 2009.
Keep it growing,
David
Nice picture. But I thought this was MLHH? (Why is LHC in the title?)
Long Hair Cabal ? :-)

A Linux Longhair
I normally don't comment on hair photos, but that one is too amazing not to say anything.
That's incredible! You guys must have really attracted attention from others in the park. It's so rare to have hair that long.
I feel I've missed out on a great get-together even though I tend to be reclusive. We're a select group.
Cheers!
Ed
I know you are a bit shy Ed, but you are more than welcome to come to our next Bay Area longhair meet. Elizabeth usually organizes these and she would welcome you with open arms and a warm friendly hug. I would like to meet you sometime too. I tend to be shy too, but a strong kinship with other longhairs is stronger than my shyness. I finally got to meet Dave Decker who is a living legend. He is 6 feet tall and his hair reaches his ankles. Truly amazing.
You would have liked the picnic. 90% of the food was vegetarian. Hopefully you can make the next longhair meet.
Scott
Scott,
Thanks for the invitation! I am interested in meeting you and the other members, but I am shy.
A get-together would feel less awkward if it attracts a diverse sample of men and women who post here (I would have felt out-of-place as the only straight guy at some of the past meetings). The Tilden Park meeting was fine in this regard. I hope to see you in the future!
Ed
I am not sure when the next longhair meet is but the ones put together by Elizabeth often have a mix of straight and gay men. Some of those meets have gorgeous long haired women too. The Oct. 5th meet is a good example. The last major SF longhair meet was on Sept 29 and it was for gay longhairs and friends. For me, sexual orientation is irrelevent, it is the long hair that interests me. Long hair does not have a gender to it.
Scott
...it is the long hair that interests me. Long hair does not have a gender to it.
I agree completely.
I need to explain that the awkwardness I was referring to can occur for many reasons. For example, at social gatherings, married people tend to talk about their kids, while single people talk about everything but. The two groups tend not to relate to each other, particularly if they've been married or single for many years. Its important to have enough diversity so that there wouldn't be just one single person in a group of married people, for example. I've experienced similar awkwardness in social gatherings of people with academic and industrial backgrounds.
In our case, I'm certain that super long hair would give us enough to talk about all day before someone mentioned their kids (;-)
Ed
Actually, one can only talk about hair for so long. In the MLHH chat room, we talk about food more than anything else! This has become an in-house joke there to the point that we sometimes call it the Men's Long Hair Smorgasbord. Be they gay, straight, with child, or childless, all longhairs eat.
If you are a gourmet, don't get too excited. Most longhairs eat junk food. [grin]
Bill
Just an excellent, "rad" pic. Goes to show what a little determination, some support, and a sense of community (thanks, MLHH!) can achieve. Whoa, thanks for posting, T.
Yours for renewed longhaired camaraderie,
Quenyan
Hey Trolleypup. What an awesome picture. You guys make me feel like I have a conservative hair length.LOL. You guys are an inspiration to those of us with only 3/4 of the way down the back hair. Maybe the four of you should be in a shampoo commercial.
Del
Thats some amazing hair!! :D
Hi Trolleypup,
I'm so sorry I missed Bill & Elizabeth's party; but unfortunately, I had to work (and even if I hadn't, my truck is still "missing in action" since it was stolen last Sun.).... I hope all went well yesterday, --- my guess is that it certainly looks it!
Take care,
Ken
Guess one word sums up this great photo.
ASTONISHING!
The scary thing is that I can actually identify each of you in the right order from the back just by looking at your hair!
Wow, that's got to be better than 12 feet of hair!!
Great picture!
Bruce
Trolleypup. Such an awesome array of hair I have never seen before!
peace, jonalbear
Great picture there Trolleypup, all fantastic manes! Too bad Scott didn't free his hair for the photo but I can imagine its a real pain to undo all those ties LOL
Awesome guys, thanks for sharing :)
Hi Chris, it was threatening rain for awhile. If my hair gets wet when loose it would cause a lot of knotting and tangling. My hair is very delicate and quite fine, and far less than ideal to grow super long. My hair is a mix of maybe 60% straight 20% wavy and 20% curly. It is about 60% fine maybe 30% medium and 10% coarse. I have every colour of hair on my head too. Probably fewer than 1 in 10,000 people have hair as varied as mine. I have yet to meet anyone with hair as varied as mine.
The only reason I was able to grow to that length is because of those multiple ties. Otherwise I would have to keep it at maybe mid back length at the most.
Most people have 2 or 3 types of hair on their head, I have far more than that.
Let's see:
I have coarse, medium, and fine straight blond. That is 3 so far.
I have coarse, medium, and fine wavy blond. That is 6 so far.
I have coarse, medium, and fine curly blond. That is 9 so far.
The same rules apply to all red hair on my head.
The same rules apply to all brown hair on my head.
We are up to 27 types so far.
I have a few coarse wavy black hairs. That makes 28 so far.
I probably have even more types of hair that I am unaware of.
Scott
Wow Scott that is a lot to deal with, you have incredible patience and really really wanted that hair long! I now consider myself fortunate to have only two types, straight fine dark brown hair and these unruly intruders that are taking over, course wiggly grey hairs. I am no fan of the latter but I suppose I like all of us will eventually succomb to their rule in the end. I only hope I can look as good as Bill does when they are done with me :)
Great picture Scott and I enjoyed reading of your experience meeting Dave and his longer hair :)
When my hair grows longer, I expect to see my hair be very varied and heterogenous. As it is, I have a mix of colors and textures I think.
Nice! All fantastic manes. That Dave Decker guys sure has some really long hair.
AWESOME!!!!!! :D
Whoa! What a great bunch of longhaired dudes. And each is unique. Bill's got the best skullet, Trolleypup has the best shade of dark brown, Dave has the best length, and Absalom has the best tail. Totally awesome, dudes!
Carol
According to a thread in LHC, this meet was also the gathering for the nuptials of Bill D and Elizabeth. So, I suppose congratulations are in order for the newlyweds. I guess you can call it, "Love, Longhair Style".
Carol
Wow! What can the rest of us say... but Wow!
Tristan
Awesome!
