Hey, friends. I was wondering if getting an undercut has any benefits such as easier hair maintaining, etc. and if it makes your hair 'fall/lay' down easier. Is this true?
So far, I've had 2 trims all in the lower side area above my ears and now at 9 months, the hair at the top can cover those smaller hairs underneath when I brush it into a middle-part.
I was thinking of letting it grow and noticed that it actually makes me feel as if my hair is straighter than it usually is.
Should I keep trimming or let it grow? It is not a buzzed and not THAT short underneath. About 1 1/2 inches is under there.
NOTE: I need advantages and disadvantages of an undercut, this is a serious matter that I need to think about. Also, I'm only talking about side undercuts and not at the back.
Thanks.
Hello
I have thought about geting an undercut for a time but i dont want to cut any of my hair.
a disadvantage/advantage is that it will make your hair less thick.

Disadvantage: Once the hair is gone, it's gone. Usually when you are talking about an undercut, the hair that is cut it close to buzzed. So, you'd be losing a huge among of hair and taking away from your natural thickness. There is no easy way of "going back" to even up the lengths of all your hair, short of cutting all the rest eventually quite short to make it even. I've seen guys with undercuts who look superficially good, but I always think of how much better they would look with all of their hair.

Under cuts have no benefits whatever and simply look dreadful.
