Sorry to be so long in getting back here. Thanks for all the e-mail inquiries. I've tried to respond to them all but there are just too many of them. Please accept this as your response if you haven't heard from me personally by e-mail.
I last posted on 10/30 about my planned trip to the salon. Well, i went through with it. I had to have a couple of stiff drinks first, but I did it.
In a word , it was GREAT.
I printed a couple of updo pics that JJ (thatnks JJ) had e-mailed me and took them with me as suggested styles. I had told my stylist (Christie) that I was going to a Halloween party and wanted an updo.
I feel that she knew that there was more to it than that, but still made me feel very comfortable.
We were in a seperate little cubicle so that made it a llitle easier too, although I was apprehensive about leaving.
Anyway, she washed and rolled my hair which took about 45 min.
I was under a dryer for about another 45 min. This was out in a larger common area with other people (all female) but I didn't attrct too much attention. I figured that with so many men getting perms that the site of a guy in rollers must not be too unusual.
After I was dry, I went back to Christie's cubicle. She wanted to know if she could elaborate some on the stles shown in the pictures and I said of course.
The result,again about 45 min later, was incredible. My hair was pulled sraight up on top of my head all the way around (as opposed to a French Twist in the back) and fastened with hair pins all around. Then there were simply layesr and mounds and piles of curls everywhere, some cascding back down the back of my head. She also pulled several strands loose around my face, in front of my ears amd the nape of my neck. All of these she turned into ringlets with a curling iron and small hot rollers.
It was a wonderful experiance, but I told her I was apprehensive about leaving. She was great. She took my car keys and pulled my car to the rear of the salon and let me out the back door.(I hadn't even known there was a back door)
Driving home wasn't too bad. I just stayed focused straight ahead until I got there. If there were any reactions to me I didn't see any. My car has a slifght tint to the windows and that may have helped some, alon with the fact that it was now quite late in the afternoon and starting to get pretty dark.
My girlfriend got home about 30 min after I did. As those of you who have read my earlier posts know, she is really into this. She loved it and coudn't keep her hands off of it. She loved the fact that I had surprised her like this but said that she wiched she had been there for the entire time. She has tried these elaborate updos on me before herself, but htey just don't have that professional look. She thinks that she can pick up some pointers if she sees how a pro does it. Shes begging me to go back and take her with me. I'm sure I will, as soon as I can summon together the nerve to tell Christie that I want to come back, and not under the false premise of a costume party.
We stayed in that night, I guess that is another topic altogether.
I NEED A FEMALE OPINION: Why is it that some of you ladies (like my girlfriend) enjoy the feminization of your boyfriends/husbands?
My girlfriend can't explain it so I sure woud like some opinions from some of you ladies out there.
