Here is what my hair looks like from the back.
Hey, that's some wonderful hair there! The colour is awesome. Not blonde, but golden. The golden colour also works well with the waves/curls.
How long have you been growing, and what's your target length?
I have been growing it since February '06, with a few trims here and there. I plan on mid-back to terminal length. At most 2 feet.
Also, I wash my hair daily. Every few days I'll put conditioner in it, and about once every two weeks I use shampoo. Te replace oils and such, I use the Garnier (sp?) anti-frizz and shine cream. It makes my hair curl more, but it doesn't get dry as if it would if I didn't use it and washed daily.
I wash it daily just because when I wake up it is INCREDIBLY messy. Would sleeping with a loose ponytail help this?
You have nice curly healthy hair, and it sounds like you have a good care routine as well. Waering a loose pony tail in bed might help but it will still be messy to some degree especially if you toss and turn a lot. At least that's been my experience.

Thank you for posting. About whether or not my hair is growing, I think I found out the problem. Through most of the year last year I never washed my hair, and vigourously combed it. That apparently has made it look think now, but in a year or two it'll have length and more thickness! In the last month it's gone from my mouth to below my chin, so I will say I'm doing good now.
