You know what frustrates me?
When I wake up in the morning, wash my hair, then comb it nice and thoroughly, only to ruin it by putting it in a ponytail.
But I guess that's the sacrifice I make if I want to keep 'looking professional' with longhair.
A pony tail is the best way for business but I entirely agree that until it has been washed again it does not particularly good 'down'.
However it is entirely woth it.
At least for the most part, ponytails being professional is for both genders (or variations like a bun). But yeah, to restrain such nice hair...
I am new to the pony tail (my hair is just long enough to make one now)... My problem is it feels like it is pulling, and I constantly have to adjust it to stop that feeling. I assume that "pulling" feeling goes away eventually.
Well through the course of the day, the feeling goes away and I guess as we go through it daily, it no longer feels strange (like how did the first person to wear pants feel?). Sometimes I'll have a tail in all day from 8 am until 5 pm and I'll be surprised it is up there (I'll brush against it and say "what was that").
The other issue is tightness. If your hair is barely ponytail length, a pony tie any looser would not work. When you have a foot of hair going through minimum, a looser hold will work when shorter hair will fall out.
yeah it does eventually
What they really want is for you to hide your hair so it looks like you don't have much. If you were to grow a big beard, then you will look hairy no matter what you do with your mane, and ponytailing it would then be pointless. [grin]

I work in a law firm and wear my hair loose, but then I think I'm too old too care!
I guess I'm missing something--how is it ruined?
