Here I am in front of the same tree. That's it for the pix for now.
Thanks for sharing those photos....
I can almost smell that wonderful redwood scent !! I have not been up in that area for a couple of years....I need to take a trip (maybe Thanksgiving time).
And your hair look great...sets off the Forest just nicely !!

Hi Steve,
There is no place that I love more than where the giant Coast Redwoods grow! I have spent more vacation hours along California's North Coast and in the "Redwood Empire" than anywhere else on the whole planet (and I've been to 47 states, 6 Canadian Provinces, the UK, and also Australia, --- brag brag brag - lol).... From the Big Sur in the South, to the farthest North batch of old growth Redwoods just across the Oregon border, to me it is the most sacred slice of soil that planet Earth has to offer, --- and I never, EVER get tired of spending time up there!!!!
My guess is that the tree you are standing in front of is probably in or near Humbolt Redwoods State Park, just North of Garberville, --- either that, or in the National Park North of Eureka; or possibly Jedadiah Smith Redwoods near Crescnt City, if you went that far North... The only redwood trees that big near SF would be in Armstrong Redwoods, which is 2 hours away in Garberville. I don't think there are trees that big in the Santa Cruz Mt.s near where you live, nor in Muir Woods in Marin Co.; but, correct me if I'm wrong!
Anyway, can you tell I'm a HUGE fan of Redwood trees (lol)?? GREAT pic, Steve!!

Well, after a post like that, I almost want to perpetuate the myth; although I already spilled the beans in another post. It's not a hidden area really anyway. Now, OTOH, I've heard that the current champion redwood is in fact a closely guarded secret, and IIRC it's in the region you describe.
Great trees and superb pics steve.
Cheers Dave
