How does a wide tooth comb look like? How does it differ from a regular comb. And does it do something to your hair than a normal comb does.. thanks
I actually have three combs that I use out of the shower (or after being in the wind). One has about 5 teeth per inch, the next twice that and the last is a "normal" comb. I find using a gradually decreasing size and sometimes starting with just finger-combing, works well on getting rid of tangles. The last two sizes are actually two ends of a regular comb with two different densities.

Here's a bad photo of some wide tooth combs. There is a ruler (inches) for scale. The photo color is real bad because of the poor light (the combs are blue in reality except for the smaller pocket comb which is black). So, I think the photo answers your first two questions. Wide tooth combs are used basically because a regular (i.e. short hair pocket comb) doesn't get the job done unless your hair is real straight and thin. Even then it would probably put too much stress on hair. I guess you'll know you are ready for one of these combs when the one you have becomes too much of a pain in uh, the hair, to use.
