Thanks for the imput, but after a long fight with my wife,I agreed to start taking female hormones. Well its been a week and I haven't seen any changes to my hair or anything else.My wife owns her own salon so she has enrolled me in a hair design and cosmotology class at a local beauty school so we can work together.If there is anyone out there with a similar story please let me know how it turned out. thanks
If that's what you want, great. You are taking the path that men take who are transexual, and become women. To do that as a result of any kind of coercion would be a huge mistake in my opinion. If your wife is essentially forcing you to do it, then it seems that she doesn't really want you as her partner, but someone else, a female.
I am VERY worried about you taking female hormones.
You ARE going to grow boobies if you take that stuff.
And besides, there is absolutely no difference between male and female hair (except that male is more likely to develop thinning/baldness than female). I've heard that 2/3 of men will get a major hit (thinness or balding..or both) at a point in their lives (could be 19, could be 91). The other 1/3 will either never get hit at all...or suffer a kinder recession of the hairline/thinning than other people. The point is...if you belong to the 2/3, then female hormones aren't going to reverse the process. And if you belong to the 1/3...female hormones STILL won't make a difference. You claim your wife is forcing you to take female pills to improve your hair, but I'm telling you...it won't make a difference.
But that said...if you (or I should say, your Misses) want to grow boobies and experience odd mood swings that men aren't supposed to get...then go for it.
Are you sure all this is just about hair? It sure doesn't look like it. Are you sure your wife wants a man instead of a woman? It sure doesn't look like it. If she loved you the most she would want to do is make you wear an ugly shirt every now and then, not this kind of drastic change. And the fact that you said that your wife made you take that, shows you are either very week willed or you secretely wanted this to happen and say that you are just doing it because of your wife. Sincerely i don't think the people on this board are the most indicated to give you advice about this, we talk about hair in here, not about this kind of stuff, this is much more serious than just having long or short hair. Be very sure that you want to go ahead with this, maybe you should look for advice in some other place where some one could help you more.

From what I've read, you are risking serious liver damage, as well as the other physical/emotional problems that have been reported.
At the very least, consult a physician!

You need a prescription for hormones. There are guidelines for this. No doctor would give this guy the prescription.
His wife will probably "MAKE" him get a sex change next. Stay tuned...
