Hi there- new user. My problem is that the hair on the back of my neck grows really curly and goes down my back before the hair in the front gets to my chin. Is there any way around that? How do hair straighteners work?
Well, growing it longer helps...how long is it now?

Thanks Mike, for the RAQ link. This can be a great help to newbies like me. I've done a lot of research on my own, lurked here and trolled the archives to find answers and information. I'd like to restrict my posts to things that add value or entertain and of course, my curly hair monster's growth progress.
I need to 'do the time' and become longhaired before I can really feel like I'm part of this board. I'm grateful for the community's welcome and support but I need to pay my dues, as they say.
Regards to all,
Don
I'm not even going to post any pics until I have enough hair to talk about. I only post when I feel really strong about something.
I'd certainly keep away from the hair straighteners that's for sure.
Cheers,

It curls, well then you have curly hair obviously or you're in the awkward stage. Just don't use hair straighteners if you want healthy hair. Of course, once or twice won't be a big deal but on the whole it's pretty damaging. Wait some time and when it's longer it will settle down, don't worry.
