Hello, everyone. I found the site while looking for information on hair care, and found the jackpot. I've mainly just been lurking, but i've found so much useful information here. Unfortunately, i learned i've been doing just about everything you shouldn't be doing, and nothing of what you should be... my hair probobly reflects it, too. >_>
Hopefully after awhile it'll start looking healthier again.
But anyway, i'm 15, and i've been a longhair a majority of my life. I grew my hair to my waist through gradeschool, but had it cut short again. I didn't like it, so i grew it back.
It's been about 3-5 years since i started growing it again.
Glad to be here, and props to everyone on the site. ^_^ \m/
Andrew, Wonderful waves. Your hair looks more brownish here.

Andrew, Beautiful thick blonde tail! Welcome aboard!

I guess we can number you among the "identity" longhairs. It looks quite natural on you.
Identity longhairs? Never heard of that term before... what do you mean by that?
An identity longhair grows it long because it is part of who he is not because it happens to be in style.
Hi Andrew,
Great that you found us and hope your getting good advice. The update pictures looks great and you have great body and waves to your hair. Well it's a shame that you cut but it's grown back well and there aren't too many people that grow it to waste at such an young ages
Keep it growing.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi Andrew
Welcome to the board. Your hair doesn't look all that bad in the pics what was it that you did wrong as you said in your post?
Glad you found us and hope you grow it back to waist length again.
Kevin
Hi Andrew,
Welcome to the hyperboard, and I am delighted that you have found our community. Your hair looks great now, it is thick, with fabulous waves and I cannot see any damage at all. If you had waist length hair once, you should have NO trouble growing it to your waist again!
Keep it growing,
David
Your hair looks good in the pics, though if you have damage, it only really shows in a closeup examination. If you have dammage, it appears to be minimal, so you may be able to arrest, or even reverse it, with the proper care now. Try using S&D (search and destroy) to remove any obviously damaged strands. This you can do yourself, by examining your ends under bright light. Only snip off the damaged hairs, just above the damage, with a pair of sharp scissors. This is better than an overall trim, and lets you maintain your current length. What you are looking for are split ends and breakage. A good deep conditioning treatment, can do a lot to improve hair. So wet your hair, load it up with a good conditioner, and let it soak in for a good 5 to 10 min. Rinse with lukewarm water, then do a final rinse with water as cold as you can stand it. Keep us updated and welcome to MLHH.

Welcome Andrew, glad you found the best place on the net for longhairs. Your hair looks good in the pictures so there must not be too much damage. Carol gives some good advice that should help. You grow your hair to your waist in grade school? You must have very supportive parents. Congratulations.
Keep on growin'

Man, your hair is really like a lion's mane! It's incredibly full and thick and it's great you've had long hair when you were little as well, welcome!
Welcome Andrew, your hair looks good. It looks like you are taking reasonably good care of it already, but it is always good to learn even more about hair care. Growing it to your waist in gradeschool tells me you already know something about caring for it.
What you stated above about not liking short hair indicates to me you are a born longhair. You are among a small segment of the male population (maybe 1 or 2 percent) that is not comfortable with short hair. For you, it is probably best to keep it long for your whole life.
Long hair forever.
