thanks in advance :{ ]
take care everyone
Hey Kal El, it is probably a buildup of shampoo residue that does not wash out easily. Many shampoos have lots of additives in them. Are there any "cones" in them? Dimethicone and cyclomethicone are just two examples. These coat the hair and make it shiny. Too much of these will make a mess of your hair.

Try using a vinegar rinse after you wash. It removes the residue left over. A good recipe is a tablespoon of vinegar added to three cups of water. Leave it in. The vinegar smell will go away. Try this a few times to make it work.
Also, switch to a shampoo that is made of less synthetics. Check out Lush solid shampoos...specifically "New" has only one synthetic, sodium laryl sulfate, which is derived from coconut. The solids last a LONG time. So, the price is not that bad.

Hey Kal El:
Funny you should mention that. I just bought my first bottle of Mane'N'Tail yesterday. I used it last night and LOVE how my hair feels today. How long have you been using it? I'll be interested to see if anyone else has had this problem too. Ciao - Bruce'ster
I've used M&T off and on since high school. Caveat: I get mine from the local farm supply co-op, so I don't know if they have a different formulation for the human use vs. livestock use. I do know that the livestock conditioner is supposed to be left in, and it can build up if you put too much on. It *IS* hard to rinse out.
I second the vinegar suggestion, and also maybe use a clarifying shampoo now and then, once a week, if needed.
I tried Mane and tail and had less then desireable results too.
I guess it's not for everybody. Definitely try something else.
