Hi there.
I have a question: I have always heard that when the hair is wet it becomes much more weaker and it is not advised to comb it until it is almost wet. But with my hair something strange happens. After washing my hair, when it is still wet, if i run my fingers or a comb through it, it falls a lot by the root, maybe 2 to 8 hairs each time i pass my hands. BUT, when my hair is dry it is as strong as iron: it doesnt matter how much times i pass my hands or a comb, it simply does not fall. Is this normal? I am asking because as i said before i have always heard that the hair would become more fragile while wet and it could break, but in my case it doesnt break, it just falls by the root, and ONLY when it is wet.
This is normal. It is a known fact that hair is weaker when it is wet, which is why it is advised not to comb it. I have the same problem, and I believe most if not all people do. ALthough I'm not sure of the scientific reasons behind this.
Then, Is there any "healthy" way to dry my hair faster without using blowdryers? Its just that i cant dry my hair properly using only towels...Is there any trick when using a towel that will make my hair dry any faster? How do you guys do to dry your hair?
Super Shammies. http://www.superchamois.com/ they sell them pretty cheap at the wisconsin state fair (not sure what other things they do) and yeah, i swear by them, for like, everything. Dry my own hair with them, used them when I used to be in swim team, use them to dry my kitties and my dog after a bath so they dont get my bed wet, use them for cleaning....they absorb like 10X the amount of water a normal towel does, then you just wring it out, wrap it around your head again, even though it still damp and it pulls even more out, then when your hair is just damp you let it air dry and it gets a nice shine and wont freeze in winter :) I don't know much about long hair but since I work in an office as a supervisor and live in wisconsin, when I wake up and shower before work I cant walk in there with damp hair (supervisors actually have to look nicer then regular people, lol)
Wait, you mean people are supposed to dry their hair after a shower. I just shower, comb my hair a little, and go and let it all air-dry...yeah, probably not the best thing for my hair or my head in winter with the massively huge conduction of heat provided by water.
