WE INTRERRUPT THIS PROGRAM TO BRING YOU AN OPINIONATED COWBOY-MODERATOR'S $.02 WORTH OF WHAT'S TICKING INSIDE UNDERNEATH HIS LONGHAIR-STUFFED COWBOY HAT....
Hi All,
Occasionally someone will post that their feelings have been hurt here, and that they are leaving MLHH altogether. Hey, these things can happen, --- we are all human! Usually it just takes a little calmer, clearer thinking, though, --- as well as sometimes getting to know a little more about where the other person is coming from --- and the differences and hurt can then be resolved...
I'm sure I have occasionally said hurtful things here myself. I don't intend to ever hurt (and I certainly am willing to apologize to anybody I have); but I openly admit to having a bit of a smarty-pants mouth sometimes (heck, I grew up with a lot of sarcasm in my house, --- including all 3 of my step-brothers are often worse than I am - lol)!!
The MLHH Moderators do everything they/we can to remove the truly nasty trolls and/or predators here; but, no one who is human can ever claim to be, "perfect"... We all come from diverse backgrounds, countries / states / regions, personal histories, differing perspectives, opinions, philosophies, outlooks, etc. And part of successfully becoming a longhair in an [often] hostile anti-longhair world is to learn to develop a bit of a "tough skin"...
If at all possible, let's try not to be too quick to take offense at another's comment if it disagrees with our own viewpoint, --- because it often is just that: a disagreement with a point of view, NOT a personal attack aimed at an individual.
Anyway, I realize that this is, "easier said than done" (remind me of this the next time I'm mad at somebody about something - lol). But, just thought I'd say this as a friendly reminder!
AND NOW, BACK TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED LONGHAIR-DRAMA MLHH SOAP OPERA PROGRAM (lol)....
- Ken
Well I'm offended that you're offended because she's offended!!

Ken (and other moderators).
- I just wanted to mention that I (and probably everyone else) appreciate the job you all do in keeping the board civil and free from "bad karma". Unfortunately, when you do your job the best, practically no one notices because things are running well. It's only when something slips through that we can see what it is that you do, removing offensive comments, smoothing ruffled feathers and calming things down.
As your payment for that, I'm sure that there is an amount of abuse that flows back to the moderating crew which we rarely see or hear about.
Thanks from me at least for keeping our "internet home" a place that we want to be in.
AndrewB
Thanks, Andrew, --- your kind words are much appreciated!
- Ken
I agree completely.
I mean, I come from sweden and it´s a really different country compared to countries like USA. Even though we all probably have very different opinions, there´s no need to get into fights.
Personally, I´m not here to discuss politics. I´m here to give my support to all the guys out there growing their hair. If I don´t have something good to say, I keep my mouth shut!
Sometimes people WILL step on each others toes. But when that happens, you should be able to talk about it, apologize and move on.
/Erik
Well said Ken. Some people can be a bit too sensitive and over react. If I said something really bad I would apologize but mild sarcasm I won't. If they can't handle a bit of tongue and cheek or blutness then well too bad. The world can be a nasty place so deal with it I say.
Kevin
Thanks, Kevin! Yes indeed, the world can most certainly be a nasty place. I am currently working on a project to get the world to understand that it should all revolve around: me me ME!!! But, sadly... I don't think the world will ever quite come around to fully cooperating with doing all the things that will make me happiest on this planet (lol)!!
Oh, well [sigh]... I guess that means I may have to adjust a *little* bit to the ways of the world, after all.... What a pity! (Lol)
- Ken
Oh please Ken, don't give up. Most sincerely, I think Ken's World would be a pretty great place. Besides, the world has revolved around me for almost 33 years and I'd be happy to let you have your turn now.
Elizabeth
...humans tend to take things too personally, "you don't like my ideas", "you don't like the music I like", and "your ancestors didn't like my ancestors", then whats' next, war?! If we all learned to resolve things and try to understand the other point of view, the world would be a happier place.

No, no, it goes THAT way around!
Hey Ken-
Bravo! So well said as only you can do. (Are you sure you're not a professional author?) Nope, impossible. The way in which you write and get ideas across has them all beat by a mile.
We are all so blessed to have you as one of our moderators.
Thanks so much for this posting.
Take care
Justin~
because of this statement
don't you see, we all relaised, and that is serious proffessional misconduct, thus i am leaving and will not post again, but then i'll come back in 3 months with a different name and shake my head profusely when they ask if i'm that guy that....
And thats how they usually go..something ridiculously trivial.....
(by the way, i am not leaving forever)
You've been paying attention!!
.
Excellent post, Ken. We are really all blessed to have the urban cowboy round' these parts. See ya back at the ranch amigo.
