I'm almost at my two-year mark. I'm very satisfied with my hair growth and the looks of it, but some things about it are starting to bug me... here they are :)
1. So, this year I've started to push my early twenties. I've encountered many health problems I've never experienced before in my life, and found that maintaining a good state of body fitness cures well about all of those problems. Still, working out hits my hair quite badly. My thick hair absorbs sweat very quickly, and it's quite unkempt after my hour or two of exercise. How do you bodybuilders take care of this?
2. My hair is in a quite bad shape after I wake up from sleep, probably because I turn a lot in my bed over night. How do you preserve your hair volume during sleep hours? I've heard some people say it would be a good idea to buy a silk pillow case, because the usual pillow cases slightly pull your hair. How true is this?
3. Sometimes a random place of my scalp, usually somewhere in the back, itches. At times it could start two days after I had had my hairwash, and sometimes I could go a whole week without a single itch. My routine is that I wash my hair only when I feel the need to. So, what could cause this and what advices do you have on increasing your hair in-between-two-washes expectancy?
I hope for some wise and elaborate answers :) Thanks.
For 1 and 2, have you tried putting your hair in a bun, braid or braids? When mine was down to my waist, I had to do that at night. The most comfortable for me was in two braids, starting the braids behind and below my ears, and winding then fastening the braids to the top of my head.
Many things can cause an itch, from dry scalp to too much oil. How long do you go between washes, in general? Brand and type of shampoo can make a difference, too.
1. Well if your just a bodybuilder your only going to be lifting weights so you can just tie your hair back... i play a contact sport so a pony tail would be impossible to keep up, and i have to use olive oil to weigh it down and protect it abit.
2. Tie your hair back before you go to sleep and even if its come abit loose by the morning it will still be better than not tying it back at all.
