Hey all, I am still growing it out. Somedays I enjoy it more than others but those are the days when seem to enjoy everything more so I suspect it isn't the hair!
Some of these pictures I took with a flash and some not, both types have their interesting points.
Hey Chris. Your hair is looking great and from the pictures it seems that you really like the way it looks. From your response to my thread, you now know how I pick up girls. You don't have to worry about having the right line or some kind of suave approach, just toss them up in the air. It saves time going to the gym as you get a great workout lifting the girls and you don't have to worry about buying them a drink at some dark bar.

Well of all the pics you posted this is my favorite:) Don't know why but you look so contented in this one. Its good to see that you are sticking with the hair as I know you were having second thoughts a few weeks ago.Believe me you look GREAT with the hair you have grown out to date as you should be pleased with your current progress.I hope things are getting better for you as I know you were very concerned about your job.I really feel bad that such a nice guy like you are having all these problems. Hey Mark, thanks so much for the encouragement and the kind words you always share :) I do like this picture too, especially the way the light reflects on it from the back and the way it falls on my shoulders. Most pictures I take look crappy but once in a while I get some I actually like!
I like the low lighting effect of these pics, it lends a warm mood to the whole thing :)
I am still working on this problem but I am giving up on the whole starving myself thing, wasn't working anyhow. I will let everyone know how things are going.

Chris, This is by far the best of the shots. Great composition and a nice pose from a very astute model. Who says you're not photogenic? You have great hair with wonderful color and texture!

Wow thanks for all the compliments John, you sure make me feel special. I am glad you (and Mark also) liked this pic. I really liked the strong light in the center and the way the soft secondary light lit my hair from the back. I was just playing around with the lighting and I didn't expect it to come out that way. I am no photographer I just used the auto timer on the camera and I wasn't really trying to get anything other than a half decent hair picture. If I were interested in composition I suppose I would have to take the picture somewhere other than in my messy computer area :)

I like Pic 1 and 2 which really show off the length, especially in pic 2 the way it flows across your shoulders.
Thanks a lot for your kind words derf! I must confess that I did try to get that effect in showing my hair length on my shoulders. My hair certainly doesn't look that good all the time, I usually have to take many pictures to get any good ones!
Now if I could keep this look for real I would be much more excited about my hair.

Thanks for the compliments Rick. My hair is still not really all that shiny but the flash does make it appear so. For me I find that just brushing it can make it look somewhat more shiny, at least as far as I am likely to get. I am using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that I get at our Whole Foods Market. It is called Pure & Basic Natural Reconstructing Conditioner. It is rich and has Kukui Nut Oil and Shea Butter and Macademia Nut Oil. So far I am enjoying it.

As always, I am delighted whenever you are able to post an update, and hope you are doing OK these days. You are always in my thoughts, and I hope you can get this dreadful condition under control.
Your hair keeps getting better and better, and of course, I am VERY pleased to hear that you are keeping up the hearty growth! It is in fantastic condition, perfectly straight, and I see SHINE in it as well! (You complained in an earlier update about lack of shine, but you seem to have solved that problem!) You really should try to measure the length, and estimate your growth rate, I am always impressed by how fast it grows.

Thank you so very much for your generous words and well wishes :) I am still struggling with my health but I am hoping that I am narrowing down the solutions.
I do think that my hair is in better shape somewhat since I changed shampoo and conditioner. I will let if grow for now though :)

thanks for the encouragement and the kind words man! I could not bring myself to do anything about cutting my hair, I simply couldn't trust myself to do the right thing at the time. I am hopeful that I will get back into hair more with time.

Hey thanks Max for your compliments :) My hair is fine, not thick at all and straight as an arrow. So if yours is the same well then I am glad my hair can inspire! I have always felt my hair to be very boring and without real interest but I think it is getting to be better looking as it gets longer.

Hey Zig thanks for the compliments. It is possible that your hair has just started growing out slower, maybe you can actually check some portion of your hair regularly and see if it has stopped growing. You may not be at terminal yet, I hope not but even if you are I still think your hair looks very cool Zig. Any hair that grows beyond reaching your shoulders is just extra as far as I think. Yours looks great the way it is mate, far longer than most guys have it and thats what counts :)

Hey dude. It actually seems to have gotten *fuller*. No kidding. And of course, the length is coming along fine too. Glad to hear that you're not blaming the hair for not feeling good all the time. Life's regular ups and downs just get superimposed on us regardless.
Hey Steve thanks a lot dude. I am using a different mosisturizing shampoo and conditioner maybe that is helping the look. There are times when I enjoy the whole hair thing more than others, but its not the hair so much anyway as I suspected. For now I will hang out and post some and grow the hair, who knows what tomorrow brings :)

There are some days that that my hair is just a traveling companion, along for the ride, same as my nose. But like my nose, my hair is part of me. Man, that hair look really warm and comfortable! I´m freezing my ass off here in sweden!
Same here at -7 degrees C (19.4F) + much snowfall today:D
As much as I love to see snowfall I hate the cold and hate shoveling snow even more. Fortunately where I live on the east coast of the United States we rarely get snow even in the winter.
Take care and try to keep warm and dry, see if that new jacket you bought is worth the price :)
Hey Erik thanks man. It's all a trick of the camera light dude, I didn't use a flash and I got this really warm mood in the shot. I don't envy you (or Simon) the cold of Sweden but I am sure it is quite stunningly beautiful in the summer. I would love to visit Scandinavia someday as the culture is fascinating for one who loves old Norse tales :)

Thank you Justin for your kind compliments and goodwill I can certainly use them both right now! I am starting to enjoy the longhair a bit more. I think if I had more wave and texture to my hair that I may have kept it a bit shorter about shoulder length but there never seemed to be a point when I was growing it out that I liked the look of it. It always just sort of hung there near my face but didn't really add much in the way of personality to my face. It seems that I have to grow it out even longer or cut it back very short as my hair never quite looked like I had hoped it would when I started. I will go forward and grow it some more and see if that pleases me. I really wish I had a different type of hair but this is what I got so...
As for my health I am still working on it, I have become a frustration to even my own doctor as he is doubting that I have what I am sure I do have. He says my case is unlike any he has seen in over 30 years of working with candida so he begins to doubt that is what I have. I am sure I have it anyway and am still proceeding on that basis.
Great update Chris and despite your helath issues you look very well and your hair looks in superb condition. What great length you have - I am only 5 months behind you and am way shorter.

Hey Dave thanks so much for the kind words man I appreciate them. I have much longer hair than you had because I never had a shaved head or a mohawk (so I am not Mr. Adventurous lol). I started with a fairly typical men's haircut much longer than a buzzcut :)

Hey thanks Walter I am trying like hell to appreciate the good days, they don't come nearly as often as I would like but when they are here I do try to do things I don't normally feel like doing, like posting updates here :)
Thanks for the kind compliments Walter I think the grey streak is just as present but as the hair grows longer the grey ends get buried amidst the rest of the hair and end up hidden behind my normal colored hair. That grey isn't going anywhere, it would be interesting to see the entire grey length but that doesn't seem to be easy to do.
I am not so sure I want the Shih Tzu look Walter lol. Didn't you say someone thought your long hair made you look like a Cocker Spaniel :) What is it with the dogs lol?

Okay, now I'm just plain jealous! Every time you update your hair is so much longer. You have to have one of the best growth rates on the planet. I know your straight hair shows the length the quickest but still!
Your hair remains in superb condition. I know you're not entirely certain how much you like it but it's safe to say many of view your hair as just about perfect.
I really hope that you find some resolution soon to both your health problems and your job situation.

Everybody seems to comment on the growth rate of my hair and ironically I have no clue as to what that rate is as I have never measured it. It seemed to take forever to grow out when I was waiting for it to grow back when I wanted to have a ponytail. I suspect that it is mainly that I am no longer really looking for more length so that it just seem faster, but that wouldn't account for all the hair experts here thinking my hair does grow faster than average. I have no idea, I kind of feel guilty like I have this great gift and I am not appreciating it that others would so love to have. Well chalk that up to just another of the many ironies of my life!

Why thank you ever so much Carol you are quite the flatterer :) Thanks so much for the encouragement now and always, I admit that some days are better than others but yesterday when I took the picture I was feeling pretty good I am glad it showed. Those days are rare and precious but I am trying to make them more common. The days when I feel good I am more interested in hair the other days when things aren't going so well are the days I am closest to losing the hair. It is maddening to not be of one mind all the time on this and other issues, frustrating to never know from one day to the next how I am going to be feeling. I suppose that is the nature of the beast though :(
I am hoping for more good days than bad, today was a little less good than yesterday but not too terrible. Can't have perfection all the time but I would like more of the good days indeed.

You look like you're feeling well and good to see that fine looking hair flowing and still growing. I hope everything is taking a turn for the better. If you explained it in some other post, sorry, but I haven't been able to read them all.

Hey thanks so much for the kind words Matt I appreciate them. Yes I still have ups and downs but hopefully more good days to come than bad ones. I am still not sure how I feel about my hair but other considerations must come first so the hair stays as is for now. I probably would have cut it before this but all the stories here about how people did cut it and were very sorry have given me pause. I have nothing to lose by leaving it alone for now until other areas of my life become clearer. It makes no sense to make a decision when I am not negatively biased in my thinking. I do think in some ways my hair is getting better with more length anyways, I cannot think of a shorter length that I can honestly say I preferred the look of, but I may go back and look at older pictures just to double check.
