When most people talk about "braiding" on this board, do they mean just braiding one part of the hair, so it's like a pony tail, or braiding lots of it, similar to dreadlocks (but not as permenant!)
I'd make more sense if I had pictures, but I cannot find any that help me explain what I mean... :(
For me braiding usualy infers 'french braiding' where all of the hair is fed in from the front in three strands. Some people also interchange braid with plait though - where you just use the three (or more ) strands from the back where your pony starts.
Yeah, that's about it... Any idea how this is done, and how long the guy's hair would be if let loose?
You pretty much have to have someone braid it for you. If you didn't know that is a picture of me. I had my wife braid my hair. It took her maybe 30 minutes.
I have plenty of pics showing how my hair looks when not braided if you want to go to my site.
When I wore my hair braided it was usually one braid strand down the
back like a pony tail. I suppose you could wear them as "pig tails"
what ever floats your boat. Never tried dreadlocks. I've never
seen dreadlocks that I liked.
Several different types shown here.
