Hey all i hope some of you remember me! Ive been away from the board most of this year because of uni and other commitments. However iv have just completed my first year of my Sociology Major and was remembering all you great folks!
Well i havent gotten a haircut/trim for at least 6-8Months and have been growing it long for 2 years and 2 months!....as you may remember is was the one that was paranoid of split ends and always got trims, hindering growth in the process.
Well i have LOADS of split ends now (at least 1/5 splits and 1/4 damaged ends) but ive given up triming and caring about them for at least a long while becuase ive given up trying to get rid of them. Since my hair is that semi curly/wavy messy type the split ends adn damage isnt so obvious i guess. Anyways heres a sort of update pic thats only a month or so old....its pretty badly cropped too :P
Well first off we would all hardly recognize you now since your hair is so much longer than before! The damage isn't obvious from here because your hair looks great, very healthy and shiny now.
I haven't gotten my hair trimmed once yet so I am not one to give advice that I haven't taken either about trimming and split ends. I have been reluctant to make any changes at this point to my hair.
Your hair looks great now hopefully you will come up with a solution to the problem or you just won't let it get you down!
Either way hope you are enjoying uni life and congratulations on the work you have completed so far.
Take care and don't be such a stranger here, catch you later!
Hey nice hear from you again Chris...yea ill try to get online here more often now that im home for quite a while :)
Well in your long absence you've done well your hair looks good and that length really suits you. I too don;t bother with split ends it just gets too time consuming and I want to be low maintenance.
Anywway you seem upbeat and the hair looking good. I hope all goes well with your major and don't be a stranger.
Kevin
Hi and welcome back!
Wow after looking at your avatar and then comparing it to this most recent pic I'd say you made fantastic progress and you look tremendous:) Just be careful not to let the damage at the ends get out of hand so that you aren't forced to cut a lot off in the future. If there are tons of splits throughout your hair you may need just the ever smallest of trims to get rid of them all.Just don't want to see you have problems down the road if you ignore the damage too long.Otherwise your hair looks healthy and full:)Take care and don't be a stranger.Mark
I certainly do remember you and wow what an amazing difference from the Avaatar and you will have to get that updated. Such a great difference and the semi wavy and curls suit your hair type very well.
I wouldn't worry about the split ends we all ge them and I've not had a trim in 5 years and mine is very healthy and no doubt the trimmers would not agree lol.
Great to see you have great taste in bands and of course a pint of something to make the evening go better
Cheers,
John.B

Wow way longer than your profile pic, looks great! Kinda look like the singer of Into Eternity
Wow, quite a difference from even just your last update, never mind the avatar! (Who is that kid!?) I think if you have the right routine, you can minimize the splits. Anyway, looks great from this side of the tube.
Keep on growin'

Hi MuffinMan,
In fact I vaguely remember you, I think you were around when I joined the hyperboard a year ago September, but you probaly do not know me at all, so my warmest first greetings to you!
Your hair looks outstanding, you are blessed with thick and shiny curls that grow quickly. I do not see any evidence of damage in your photo here. I just posted my 43 month update below.
Keep it growing,
David
Despite split-ends your long hair looks absolutely fantastic. And wow! How it has grown since we last heard from you.
Bravo!
To echo Ken, "What a transformation!"
Glad to hear of your success in you studies too. Your hair looks great, even if the ends are as damaged as you say. You might seriously want to consider getting the ends "dusted" -- a 1/4 to 1/2 inch off the ends. That might make your "hair life" a lot easier in terms of tangles and actually being able to comb it and such.
Wow, your hair looks great. It turned out really good. Kudos to you. As long as the splits are not causing bad tangling you may be OK just leaving them alone. (It is usually best to trim them off though. Just 1/4" is enough to remove most split ends.)

Wow! I remember your last update and that's a very nice improvement. You look to be quite happy with the results so far, too. As for the split ends, sometimes you just can't win 'em all. Take care and good luck with the rest of your schoolwork. =)
