WHAT'S THAT? No Hat !
Several have asked.....see?
I told you there was shiny under there ! HA!
WHAT'S THAT? Face Fur ! HA!
I have been banished to a lab in the dungeon at work where the safety cops never go, so thought I would give a goatee a try. I sort of like it and with imminent layoff/retirement I may keep it going.
Happy Thanksgiving to All....I have much to be grateful for and hope all of you are in a like frame of mind.
Walter White Tail
Greetings WhiteTail! Happy thanksgiving to you as well. Your update was very "kewl". Being from NY, I like using this CA word now and then.
I applaud your independent(ness) in growing your hair out. I like it! As long as it's still growing, you're good.
Super work on that instrument, you are very talented indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers,
Max
Max:
Thanks for the "kew" words.....I started my life journey in New York also. (MY mother went into labor on a TWA Constellation over the Mid Atlantic, so upon landing at LaGaurdia, she was taken to the nearest facility......which is how I happened to be born in the New York Sanitarium ! I do not show my Birth Certificate around too much...HA!
This board has shown all of us, that the longhair journey has little to do with appearance when compared to the independent (ness).

WALTER I really like this picture! That sun looks really good on you hat or no hat. I can't remember the last picture update you did but this picture is fantastic. This oughta be your new avatar! It's perfect: the shades, the cool long silver hair, the background, Walter if you don't use it I will :)
Sorry to hear about the imminent layoff Walter, that does not sound like one of the things to be thankful for, but at least you can go crazy now! The facial fur looks terrific dude, good choice.
Hope you are having a great Thanksgiving Walter, take care!
Chris:
HA! What an Ego builder you are ! Thanks for the words ! My grandfather has beautiful long & curly pure white hair which is what I thought was happening to me (hence the name "White Tail"....but it has straighten a lot with length and thinning and the colour changed more towards silver.
The layoff situation is not really a threat. I could retire, but I enjoy my work. I feel special doing a young man's job at my age and let's face it, it is hard to turn off "the money machine" However, over the past year I have been working 60-70 hours per week and I am exhausted, so if "they" want to send me home to take care of my gardens and play with my toys....OK ! HA! ("Oh No !! Please don't throw me in that Brier Patch ! HA!). Actually, my field is wide open for consulting right now and there are options in my current organization.
I like the beard also and would like to grow the mustache longer to meld into it.

Walter
I got online this morning and can see you working your way down the list of your many admirers :)
I am glad that you don't have to worry about the layoff Walter that is good news.
Regarding your hair now we will have to call you Silver Tail instead, that also has a cool sound :)
Enjoy your weekend Walter! (Probably nice and warm compared to ours in the East now lol)
Hi Walter,
AT LAST!!! What do my eyes see, but a "hatless" Walter! But everything looks great, and that is VERY cool that I see a BEARD as well.
Keep everything growing,
David
David:
Thanks....it is fun to try something a little new. I am still very self-conscious about the "shiny parts" and usually do wear a hat. Most men in my part of the world do which is really pretty necessary to prevent sunburn.

Walter
Hi Walter,
Glad to see you hatless! Looks great really. I like the beard a lot. I hope all is well with your job though, that sounds scary!
You're not even close to having a skullet. You've a good bit of hair up top. Heck, you may have more than me! The dulcimer is quite an accomplishment too. If you put a recording of your playing on the web, be sure to send us the link. I love to hear that instrument.
Happy Trukey Day as well, Matt B.
Matt:
Thanks for the anti-skullet comments.....unfortunately, to show anything in front, the back is pretty scarce, and a PonyTail leave precious little in front ! Oh Well.
I am at the stage where a lay-off just means "they" will "make" me go home and take care of my gardens and play with my toys ! HA! "OH NO! Please don't thrown me in that Brier Patch !!" Actually, should my office be closed, there are other options within the organization, plus my field is wide open for consulting right now.
I have been crazy over the Hammered Dulcimer since the first time I heard on in a Renaissance Faire in Colorado over 30 years ago. Building one has been a real kick. I have never played one, so do not hold your breath for a concert in the near future...HA! I do play piano, so it should not be too difficult to pick up.

Hi Walter,
The face fur suits you and I agree with your logic and keep it that's a reminder to them that your nearing freedom aka retirement.
I will say I would miss the hat it's sort of a trademark.
Good luck in the dungeon counting the days.

Thanks for the words.....I think the beard will stay, barring work that requires a respirator. That is the safety concern, which is a condition of the job and I have no problem with.
I have "retired" twice before in the past 10 years, we will see what happens.....HA!
I still usually wear a hat.
Walter
Walter, You look very handsome with a beard. Nice photo!
peace, jonalbear

Great look, Walter! The goatee really suits you.
Mouse
Thanks Mouse !!
Walter
Haha, it's nice to see you without a hat, one can barely recognise you :P Congrats on growing a goatee :P
Thanks ! I would like to keep the goatee and let the moustache lengthen into it......depends on work.

Walter
Looks really cool White Tail! I think this is the first time i see you make an update, and without the hat of course:D
Take care!
Thanks !!
You are right.....this is my first "update"......doesn't change much. For a while I thought it was actually getting shorter ! HA! thanks for the kind words.
