I use about 5-6 thick elastics to pull my hair back because I like i tight, but I'm worried it could be causing alot of my breakage, is this not a good idea?

Hi Josh,
I would stay away from regular rubber elastics to tie your hair back, as they can snag the strands and cause damage. The best hair ties to use are the soft cloth types, without the small metal band. They come in various sizes, and depending on how thick your ponytail is, can be twisted 2 or 3 times to restrain your hair. I would also avoid tieing hair back to tightly.
