Okay, I tried everything against the unbearable greasiness but nothing works. I would really like to ask those guys there who have oily hair how often do they wash it. I usually have to do it every other day because 48 hours are almost enough for that look
to have spread almost to the ends. You can see for yourselves, it looks like my hair's wet, sorry if you're disgusted lol. So, like I said almost but my ends sometimes feel a bit dry or it's an illusion because of the feel I get when I touch my roots (like an oil tank) So which is more harmful? I think I should wash it less but imagine this kind of greasiness, my head starts to itch I have acne on my scalp as well >< (puberty really sucks)
I brush it at least once a day to move the oils down (not brushing doesn't prevent oily hair for me, I've tried it)but no matter what I do the first abundant grease in my roots can be noticed 4 hours after washing. But if I wash it ever other day I feel like I'm drying the ends though I don't have any split ends.
Conditioners don't really help the ends and make the look worse overall so sometimes I use them, sometimes not.
I would be grateful for any help, thanks
Thanks very much for the advice, scruffy but unfortunately this is not my case. I have oily skin, not dry, even my ears are oily inside (I mean instead of dry when you clean them) Damn it, my parents aren't like this, it can't be genetic
I know I've said this before and you may think I'm a crack-pot, But you are what you eat! And I don't necessarily mean you're eating bad things, but you body may have an allergy to something in your diet. It could be genetic , but you would have to look further back than your parents to see it. To try to find what be causing your problems you would have to eliminate one component at a time and wait, sometimes a month or two, to see if that helps. Some people have wheat allergies, some people are allergic to some of the proteins , turkey, chicken or beef. If you can see a dermatologist, that might help, but you have to be persistent. Good luck

Thanks for your reply, Bruce. It actually made me thinking and now I'm almost sure it's because of puberty because when I was younger I didn't have oily skin or oily hair. I haven't changed my eating habits so that it would be because of this.
I decided to go for the every other day washing for now, I just can't stand the oiliness. Plus, I think my scalp gets 'clogged' lol and it could slow down hair growth. The ends aren't that dry, I just looked.
You are quite right in your theory though, most thing you eat, drink will eventually have effect.
With oily skin, it's likely something else. It's a myth that you can get oily skin from what you eat.
As for Grrrr, what is your age?
If you are in your teens, then oily skin is actually normal for some as you grow and mature into an adult. It is, unfortunately, part of puberty. I do second the advice to see a qualified and reputable dermatologist, though, to see if anything can be done to mitigate it.
As for the hair, one thing to try to help with the greasiness is to get yourself a fine bristle brush and use it as often as you can to spread oil in the hair from the roots down to the ends. - Reinhart
I have really greasy hair too. I have to wash my every day. However, I do use a good shampoo. (Lush: New Solid) And I only use a little at the roots...almost not enough to notice. (One bar lasts about 3 or 4 months.) I don't wash the length of my hair at all. This works well for me.

Hello grrrrr,
I also have oily hair, but not as oily as you I think. For some weeks, I have tried to gradually reduce the number of washing in a week. Now I wash my hair only one time a week ! (before, it was every two days). I think, with this "experience", that the scalp follow the rhythm you force.
So I think you should try to wash your hair not as often as you do, but gradually : two day, three day, four... In my case, one week seems to be a limit...
If it can help... Bye
