Hi Guys
How is everyone?
Its been about six weeks since my last post, so I figured I'd accompany this entry with another progress pic, taken two days ago - I've lost track of how long I've been growing my hair, since February 2003 if memory serves, but since nearing my current length, I've been wavering between growing longer an maintaining the present length.
Almost 8 weeks ago I had my hair layered and I was pleased with the results, this picture (taken two days ago) shows just how pleased I was with the results almost two months on.
Hope you like.
PS: Forgive my absence but I've been spending my weekends discovering just how good the local hiking scene here in Tenerife really is. Bill, here is what you are missing:
Hi Sorted,
Good to hear from you and doing fine here at moment and I hope all is well in the Islands. Still one place I've never visited and people keep saying the climate is great and should go there. I certainly think a hike up that mountain would be great.
Is it really 2003 since you first posted and it seems like I've been posting here for years lol. The hair is looking amazing condition I remember you said you had it layered on your last pic update. Well mine is still growing and if you are happy wit the length then fine but you can always let it grow and the pics have always been an inspiration to others.
Always glad to hear from people that posted in the past.
Take care mate.
Cheers,
John.B
Same as ever here, the climate has just returned to what I call habitable - the summer heat is over and we are enjoying daily temps of 22-25 degrees - cooler in the mountains though.
A hike up the peak shown in the photo (Mount Teide, 3,718m (12,000+ ft) is not the faint hearted, I still haven't tried it, at this time of year its positively dangerous for the inexperienced trekker, but there's plenty of interesting yet easier challenges out there too. Saturday I hiked 15Km (10 miles) across the "lunar landscape" at the base of the mountain, this is at an altitude of 2,100m (7,000 ft) and even though it was pretty level terrain the altitude made it a challenge (especially as I did in 3 hours).
Yep going back through my progress pics it seems like that long.
Thanks John, I'm gonna get my hair cut again soon, but I plan to have very little off the length, 1/2 maybe and my layers trimmed a couple of inches shorter on top. Might sound weird to some members but I don't like my bangs much more than a couple of inches past my chin, they get scraggy otherwise.
Okay I'll start getting in training and I've got a strong heart and the odd tiple of a red wines bottle certainly keeps the heart in trim and I gave up smokingv two years ago this coming January.
Well I've never had any issues with layers or having short bands as some other members of the community have. At the end of the day if it works for you, and it does, then keep with it.
Cheers,
John.B
Put it this way... I like having longhair, but I hate it looking a mess. With my hair, which is very thick, getting it layered helped "de-bulk" my hair - which in turn makes it more manageable. And believe me I work hard on my hair getting it looking the way it does, if I don't I look like Brian May! So anything that helps is a bonus.
*I as well have never had any issues when the person decides on something that is other than "Grow it all long." Bangs, layered or whatever do have their place despite sometimes being scoffed at. Alot depends on the "Hair Type" for a particular individual and "most important" is that the person looks like he wants to look and is happy with how he has his long hair. There are really no "rules."
*So very understandable.
*Sure makes alot of sense to me.
*And your photo clearly shows that you work hard to get your hair to look as teriffic as it does. You have much to be proud of. Bravo!
Hi Sorted,
As always, it is GREAT to see you posting on the hyperboard again! Your hair looks fabulous, straight and in perefect condition, and is a genuine inspiration to all.
The scenery in the Canary Islands is gorgeous. It really makes me want to hop on a plane and fly there right now, especailly with winter setting in here in Nova Scotia.
Take care,
David
Thanks David!
Well here's another shot of another side of Tenerife, this is a little rural hamlet called Ifonche. I took this picture on a hike I did about a month ago. For me this place epitomises Rural Tenerife, you can see the little small holding dotted around the hamlet with the spectacular mountains in the background. If this doesn't get you Googling for flights I'll post some shots of our beaches in the tourist resorts!
Hey Sorted
Your long hair is magnificent. Layered or not, it is impossible to argue with success! :-)
Here is a view I took Friday atop the Pacific Costal Mt. Range on the way to the beach. (But unlike yourself I cheated. Drove the car.) LOL
Glad you're back and again your long hair is looking better than ever.
Take care
Justin~
Thanks Justin, but seriously you should leave the car and walk more - I don't even own a car - best of all since I started hiking I've lost 4KG (8lbs | 1/2 stone). I never expected it to be such a health kick!

As long as we're posting pictures of nature, here's my $0.02. This was taken in Utah yesterday.
Nice scenery, and I like the longhair silhouette in the foreground. :-)
Jonathan
Welcome back.
Your hair looks superb, David. I think it would look good
maybe at low back length. Super long hair is not for
everyone. It does require more work to care for it. I can
attest to that. My hair reaches the tops of my knees.
I am not a big fan of layering but it has worked very well
for you.
