Hi, I'm 18 years old and am very confused about the state of my hair. I always use to have soft blonde/brown hair that went well with the Emo cut (I guess that is what it's called).
Anyways, my friend noticed one day that there was a weird, very dark and strangely shaped hair towards the back. That was my sophomore year. It only got worse, more of them started to spring up here and there, but never that noticeable. Now, quite a bit of hair towards the back of my head has changed that way and I have no idea what to do about it.
I've been searching the internet trying to find answers but I cannot seem to find any. I was a lifeguard for two summers so I'm thinking maybe sun damage? I shaved my head recently because I was sure that would work but to no avail. The creepy hairs are still there.
Shame you shaved your head, but I'm not sure what you mean by "creepy" hairs. Perhaps a picture would help. Hopefully we can answer your question then. =)

I described them as best as I can. I have naturally straight hair so thats why I see them so easily. They are much darker than my hair, pretty much black, and are most of the time somewhat curly. I'll get pictures as soon as I can.
There's probably nothing to worry about. It's just that your hair changes as you grow up and you have mixed hair type or it's just that you have those hairs on the back. It's no damage, since shaving didn't make it go away. It's just that you have a bit curly black hair now unless you've undergone mutation. Lifeguarding can't make you sprout different hair :P
We're you planning on growing your hair out?
That might do the trick concerning those creepy hairs,
Kevin
It's probably just a diffrent pigment in that part of your scalp. I know a boy at my school who has a few white bangs.
Hope this helped
