Hello everyone, Like stated above i am the Jason that posted about thining my hair while i gro it out, i have attached a photo of what my hair used to look like, the wind has it all messed up but this is around the goal length i want it to be, as you can tel the back hangs alot lower than the sides, and im shooting for a gradual drop in hair length as you go from the front to back so it looks like it doesnt just drop off and go down about 2 inches, Thanks for your help everyones advice on here is really helpful. Also if this is around my goal length would thining it out be bad, becasue its really thick
Thanks Jason Z
Hi JasonZ :)
I suppose if that is your final goal length then thinning your hair won't really matter. That length is considered very short by the standards here but if that's all you want in length, that's cool too.
For longer lengths thinning is considered to be the worst possible thing you could do to your hair. As hair lengthens there is a natural taper anyway and to thin your hair would only exacerbate that. Also those hairs that were cut in the thinning will regrow and then you're left with them popping up as shorter hairs among your long hairs.
My suggestion would be to grow to your goal length and if you're truly happy with that, then go ahead and thin. For many of us though, we find that we end up wanting to grow a lot longer than we initially thought. If that's the case with you, you'll wish you hadn't thinned your hair.
