Hi Guys and a few Gals (to burrow Jonalbear's greeting - lol),
WOW, long time, no post (or even LURK, for that matter - lol)!!
I happen to have quite a number of friends and dance partners who are in various 12-Step programs (like AA); plus also got familiar with one od those programs myself ("Debters Annonymous"), when I had a major need to face up to the fact that I had some very bad money habits. But, every once in awhile, I've also had some friends who conversely like to spoof some aspects of 12-Step programs...
So, in the hopes that I won't offend anyone here, I'd like to share a recent (per)version of the famous "Serenity Prayer" that I just thought up last night. Besides enjoying a chuckle or 2 over it, I hope it helps some of us hardcore "hair-aholics". Here goes...
"Lord, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
The Courage to change the things I can,
--- and the Wisdom to refrain from getting too green with envy every time I see someone else's hair look better / fuller / longer than my own!"
- Ken G.
Hello "Mr Luker" lol!
Wise words indeed Ken and so true. Well me may not all have better hair than the next person but it's certainly nice to admire when we do.
As I say to people "don't be a stranger".
Cheers,
John.B
That's quite good Ken, but I prefer this version:
"Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the
bodies of those I had to kill because they pissed me off."
Hey Ken
What a neat prayer. I will have to add that to my list of all time greats for sure! :-) You truly have a way with words that could top any cake.
But, what's with this Lurk stuff anyway? Tell you what. You continue to "lurk" and I will begin to "lurch!" (As in the Adams Family.) LOL
Take care Ken and as always my best to you.
Justin~
