Are they worth the extra cost compared to drugstore brands. What is in them that makes them better than Drugstore brands?
If you use a salon style product say the product name here and how much you pay for it.
according to paula begoun in her book, there's basically no difference, i.e. some are great/some stink just like with regular lines of hair products.
the one "salon" product I use is Bed Head Control Freak shampoo, which I pay $20 for a large bottle, maybe a quart size, but it lasts me about a year or more because I don't need much and I use it only about once a week. still, it's great shampoo. otoh, i alternate it with suave clarifying shampoo about once a week, a great clarifier that's 99 cents a bottle and available almost anywhere.
Here's the scoop...
There is no difference in shampoos. You're just paying more for the same ingredients. Find one at a decent price that works for you.
BUT...there's a major difference in conditioners. There IS a reason salon conditioners cost more.
I've been using Lanza conditioners (very expensive). But the results are definately worth the cost!
