Hi,
This is a story that might interest some of us. There is a 15 year old guy here in Northern Ireland who has refused to get his hair cut, and his school is disciplining him because of it. His father is taking the case to court.

From the article:
'Grant Stranaghan's strangly locks have caused problems
A row over a teenager being suspended from school because his hair is too long is set to go to court.
'Grant Stranaghan, a GCSE student at Ballyclare High School, was suspended for three days last week for having collar-length hair.
'The 15-year-old's father George claimed his son was now being kept in "solitary confinement" in a separate school room. '
Anybody think we should send messages of support to Grant and his father?
Yes, Andrew, most definitely! This is beyond patently absurd! It's an outrage! You'd've thought that "The Troubles" were a bad enough blight upon Northern Ireland; no, now they're incarcerating teenagers w/ long hair in solitary confinement. Nuts, completely nuts!
I'm adding my signature to the campaign, that's for certain!

Interesting article. How exactly do we send support to him? We don't know his contact details, but if I did i'd write an e-mail.
I'll ask the BBC if they can put me in touch with him.
Northern Ireland does have a few enclaves of almost primeval behaviour. Sad because it is a beautiful with a very warm hearted majority. The churches do tend to have considerable/excessive influence in education hence these problems are manifested. Hopefully the chosen solicitor will pick up on the fact that girls presumably....
We should indeed support them
Indeed I thought such backword narrow minded attitudes were mainly found in the US. I'm surprised.
Sure why not send a few notes of support.
Kevin
Unfortunately, I think they got more to worry about than hair length over there. Unbelievable. I wish the family and the student peace and success.
