Not sure how long I've been growing. Around 8-10 months.
My afro hair has been buggin me so much, it isn't a proper afro and it won't just lay down!
I tried combing it to the sides, I don't feel confident with it tho.
Hesitant afro ?

You might not think it looks all that great, but it does look good to me. Just be patient and grow it out a little longer. The weight of the hair will help make it look neater as it grows.
Whatever you do, don't cut it!

I don't think it looks all that great, and I know that with time it will flatten. But I was wondering what to do with it now :D.

Yeah man I once had an awkward afro, what you gotta do to get rid of it is to wait a few months to let your hair grow and youll never ever have to worry about it again (unless you cut it shorter of course) trust me wait it out, youll thank yourself
I think it looks cool the way it is.
If you want to experiment, I think it may look cool if you gelled it and combed it back. I think you could pull that off.

Your perceived problem regarding the management of your hair is only a problem if you expect it to behave in a manner other than the way it does behave. Saying it 'should' lay flatter (less poofy) when, in reality, it will get bigger before it gets longer, is just going to set you up for disappointment. Instead, try embracing the bigness that will come of the journey.
I think you 'disobedient' hair is looking great! Keep it up and and look forward to seeing it sitting down and tame on your shoulders.

I was wondering how you were getting on with your hair. I like the untamed look it looks cool. I remember you had issues with your parents way back when you began growing it, how is that going?
I'm sure you'll get some suggestions on what to do to make it behave but I think learning to like it would be best. As it gets longer it will be really awesome.

I think your hair looks great just as it is. You're lucky to have such volume. It will weigh itself down soon enough. You will be surprised. Give it another year. A baseball type hat or bandanna works well if you don't want the volume right now.
I have heard several guys talk about putting on a hat or some type of cap when the hair is wet to prevent it being big.
Also, the top picture would make a nice avatar if you desire for it to be changed.
I hope all the troubles you talked of having with your father have subsided. I suppose you are still living in Eygpt. You look really cool with the longer hair now, so I hope you will be able to continue growing it for as long as you please.
I have to agree; first pic looks good; I would go with it like this.
It may take a little more time to realize it, but once it gets long it will be well worth the effort. Many people would do just about anything to have hair like yours.

The issues with my father are solved now, my grandparents made him promise not to bother me about my hair again :).
I think he will come back and badger me about it later when it is a lot longer. Gotta wait and see.
For the people that would do anything to have my hair, I'm ready to trade my hair for smooth and silky hair :P.
