People are making fun of me at my school for growing out my hair. Why do they? What do you guys tell people that make fun of your hair? And what do you suggest I do about people like this?
Greatly Appreciated!

I think we need a bit more info to be able to help you. Who does this? Are they friends or just bullies?
We do get this question asked from time to time and depends of the circumstances you are getting negative feedback. Is it due to bully or people that are not used to someone having longhair around them or even not enough brain cells to know better. It's just one of those human reactions and you could tell me to mind their own business or "well you could look better with longhair". I would be positive and turn their negative comments back on them.

Where I work, me and my work buddies make fun of each other about everything. They make fun of my hair sometimes, and I make fun of them about stuff. If we didn't like each other we wouldn't bother.
School kids can be tough. A lot of people made fun of me and bullied me because I was different. The easy way out is to never do anything to stand out and be different. That's what I eventually tried to do when I was in school. I wish I hadn't.
Whether or not your long hair is worth the trouble is up to you. I don't think you'll be able to say anything to make things better--I think your confidence and the way you carry yourself will speak louder than anything.
"...your confidence and the way you carry yourself will speak louder than anything."
Very well said.

If the guys doing it mean something to you, laugh it off or tease them back. If you don't feel you can do this, then the "mean something" feeling is not mutual so you should abandon considering them someone who "means something to you".
If the guys doing it don't mean anything to you, you can either ignore them or say, "What's it to YOU!" Both approaches will put them in their place, which is below you.

Kids can be mean, and will often tease anyone who looks different, even if you look cooler than they do.
Thanks to everyone who replied. And to the last guy who replied: They're neither really. They're not friends nor bullies, although what they're doing is sort of bullying. But I mean they've never caused me trouble in the past. They were just always...there xD.
Thanks again to all who helped me.
