I'm back from vacation and it may take me some time to catch up, but I just wanted to express my appreciation for the kind and generous responses to my "update - lite" post, way back there. The trim hasn't happened yet and I'll post an update when it happens. Also thanks for the suggestions on Rogaine, propecia, finasteride, and monistat. It looks like I should do a little more research.
