So I've been noticing A LOT of frizz on my hair lately. My hair is still not long and some of these frizzy hairs look kind of damaged...like, they're really curly, while the rest of my hair is straight. Is this sign of damage or not?
PS. This has nothing to do with awkward stage. I'm only 3 months in after the cut. (Although I noticed them before the cut at 10 months, and they were at a larger number but I was hesitant to talk about it...)
This is just a guess but it may be the product your using to wash your hair. Is frizzy type hair common in your mother's side of the family?
Not really. :p
Some say that the frizzy hair is just new growth that is replacing hair that was shed. Others claim that it's damaged hair. I think that it could be both, but I wouldn't worry about it. All people, men and women have some degree of frizzies that they deal with. Take a good hard look next time you see a gorgeous head of hair and you'll see. I find that if I comb my hair a certain way, the frizzies can look pretty wild, but if I just change my part, they can almost disappear! I also use VO5 Sheer Hairdressing just after my shower, and it calms the frizzies pretty well.
Good luck and don't give up!
