Hi mlhh people
I have currently been growing my hair since April 2007 and I have Always had a short military style haircut.. almost bald but I decided to grow it. I'm currencly 19 It is well about 15cm now and the closest resemblance to my hair would be like this guy in the link below

Sooo... My PROBLEM is that when I wash my hair with shampoo and add conditioner and so on.. It becomes ultra dry and frizzy. It simply poofs up a bit. This has caused me to use shampoo very little and after I have washed it and walked around with it for a couple of days only washing with water It lays down and has the perfect amount of grease to look good. Not too dry not too greasy. HOWEVER this last about two weeks or so and then my hair starts to become very greasy at the roots.. So I have to wash it again and it poofs and looks frizzy/very dry for a couple of days and then looks good later for the next 10-14days.. The axis of evil continoues :/
So here is my question.. What can I do about this? It seems like ANY product I add and rinse out with water just takes ALL the grease out of the hair and leaves it completely dry
Another question I also have is.. How many Hairs is normal to loose every day? It seems like on a bad day I loose alot sometimes I count 20,25,30 hairs. Most of them break.. Others fall off completly, also I never come my hair I only fingercome it gently
wheeeww.. Long post, Anyways I currently live in Northeren Europe so the weather is very shifty. Dunno if this has any relevance to my situation.
looking forward to your replies
thanks in advanced..
Using olive oil when my hair feels dry has helped out, but only a drop or two; any more and my hair would be way too greasy. I also only shampoo every 4 days or so.
The hair loss you mentioned doesn't sound abnormal. If you're breaking too many hairs though, you should probably be a little bit more careful with combing/brushing.

PS: I also live in Northern Europe, but the weather here doesn't seem to affect my hair any differently than where I used to live in the US.
Hi, funny I have lived in in the states (california) for a while too. I did not really have that problem there because either you're swimming at the beach or sitting by the pool at home so I used to have wet hair alot there.
Anyways what kind of oil do you recommend? Do they even come in brands or is it some kind of herbal product?
I just use the olive oil I cook with. Other here use different sorts of oil (jojoba oil to name one) that are probably a bit better for use on hair. You might want to ask some of the other members about it.
Hi NK,
You might try using much less shampoo, and only at the roots. I use so little that there really isn't a foam. This cuts the excess grease without taking ALL the grease.
