There seems to be many posters who want to grow their hair to, at least, waist length...I can't imagine that many have achieved that goal...how about some examples who post on this site?
This doesn't show it very well because my belt is hidden by the shirt, and it's a bit puffed out in this picture. When it's combed out, the ends are past my waist now. I'm closing in on 6 years. Growing it to this length is easy if you've got the genes for it: just do nothing. :)
I am a good example. My hair reaches the tops of my knees. We
have 13 guys here that I am aware of with waist
length or longer. Let's see:

You can't see that well but I assure you it is almost to my belt. Even after a self induced trim.

I ordered it from a clothing store in Hollywood, CA, about 8 years ago. The designer is a woman named Kristi Smart. She now runs her own web site where you can order that and similar coats online.

Hair was still damp when this photo was taken. It had also been trimmed by a number of inches to get rid of the terminal endings which were causing much trouble.
I am on my way too. About 1/2 way there. Update on 1-28-08 for my three year pics.
True, many longhaired guys dream of having waist-length (or longer) hair
but it's NOT for everyone.
Recently mine reach my belt but it takes a lot more time to care
for hair that long and
if you want to trim your long hair to a shorter length then by all means do so.
Your own happiness with your hair is all that really counts.
It depends what you mean by waist. My hair reaches the part of my body that is anatomically my waist, but my belt is some way below that, i.e. it reaches MY waist, but not the waist of my trousers. Generally most guys wear their belt at their hips, not their waist.
