I guess this is it.
As of Monday, I will no longer be able to call myself a longhair.
For the last couple years, I've been getting steadily less patient with various aspects of having hair of various lengths. I've had waist length, lower and mid back, and now shoulder length (again).
I'm getting a haircut.
I did, however, promise pics at some point. These are probly some of the best to show off the hair itself that have been taken in a long while. Plus, today was a good hair day :)

Now..let me say this.
I have found this site to be very supportive, informative, and at times supportive. I never really got into posting much, but I've been a steady lurker for at least two years. Kudos to everyone here.
Also, I have tremendous (first hand) respect for those with long hair. I know it takes a lot to maintain well, and it's very much a lifestyle. Everything you do, or don't to can be affected by it, or affect it. More kudos.
I, however, now bow out and take the lazy way out.
Keep it growing, guys. I've seen some beautiful hair here.
It's hard to think of what to say, you've been a longhair for a long time, you've tried tried cutting it back to shorter but still long lengths, you've certainly have given it the "two week rule". I guess I can say good luck trying short hair. I know that having done that once before, I soon missed it, and after a too long hiatus came back to long hair. You may find the same to be true.
Well, good luck.

Great shame and good luck.

As you so well noted, Adaidh, dedicating one's self TO the adventure that is long hair is more of a lifestyle than an obligation. You've witness'd firsthand what's it's like, havin' had various lengths yourself, as well as seeing the great diversity of people and THEIR variegated lifestyles that discourse here on the board.
We all appreciate that you have graced our numbers here with your presence and, too, are happy that we could advise you, and each other, with its upkeep and maintenance. I've had many a changeover throughout my short life these 5ive decades this go 'round, also, from Beatlesesque mop top, to studious longhair'd freak, NO HAIR AT ALL, to every Punk and Nw Wave coiffure, Waspifarian w/ shoulderlength dreads, belt length wavy locks, and almost every colour known to man at one time or another, except, that is, for black, best suited to those of us with more tropical complexions (merely my opinion).
Good fortune in your life's journey, Adaidh, and may it see you there safely. I have a hunch you'll eventually come back to the longhair'd fold once again. Things always have a way of returning to their source again.
Happy blessings for the season and TIMOR OMNIS ABESTO!

Hey its really to bad you are cutting it. I say that because I work and have a pretty good job and its been cool here with no problems and also by looking at your pictures your hair is alot like mine!! and yours is pretty nice looking. I know it takes me time to get it ready every day but to me its worth it. The best of luck though and take care!
