Hello again all :) - Was fiddling around with my webcam the other day and decided to make some GIF's. Hopefully they work on here!
Always wanted to be a rocker... ;)
Now... I started to grow my mo/beard for 'mo-vember'. I can't decide what I liked better, Had a shave yesterday and brought it back to stubble. Here are the results :)
What do you guys think suits me more?
--Anthony
I want to extend a hearty welcome. I missed your original post
which is a way down the board now. I think the full beard goes
best with your hair.
Scott
Thanks for the welcome Scott :) I've had the fuller beard for quite a while, felt like a change yesterday - I like to mix it up as much as I can with my beard/mo - though it can grow in decent consistency, i can't get to mo to connect with the beard, so no proper goatee for me :( hehe
Hey man!
I personally like the beard look! although be wary because the second gif is a pretty good shot of you. Take several pictures of you with your beard and without and upload them here then the JURY will decide lol
Keep it growing rocker!
Ryan
I shall try to find some pics of me with my beard and then post em on here :) I like both looks, but rugged might suit me a bit more, amkes me look a bit older ;)
There we go ;) Thicker beard, stubble sorta beard, and no beard :) Let the vote commence! hehe
I dunno, AJ, both ways seem t'suitcha well. Beard'd, sorta beard'd, and cleanshaven. I've got friends fr. here and elsewhere that claim that I, too, look better either way, some who cast a ballot for one look over the other. Whatever the case, rock on, bro! Jus' keep the long locks, that's ALL that I ask of you!
Bless'ed Yuletide wishes for friends, family, kith, and kin,
Quenyan
This is a hard one to choose as you look great with both the stubble and the fuller beard. I think the beard gives you a more "mature" look, and the stubble a "younger" appearance.
I'ld say the beard would get you a "woof" and the stubble a "cute" from passerbys.
(I'ld vote for the beard.)
Karsten
Thanks Karsten. I agree, the beard gives the mature look, more around mid 20's, while the stubble makes me look around my age. Glad to know I can pull of both looks though - I think I shall return to the beard again after Christmas :)
Hi again, Anthony,
I replied to your other set of photos below, and once again, I would like to say your hair is awesome! I admit to being partial to the bearded look myself, but I admit to being a bit prejudiced, having a beard of my own. I grew my first ever beard starting in January of this year.
Keep it growing,
David
Ta for the feedback David - I always liked the bearded look too. Probably because I was so sick of being clean shaven throughout school life, and I just couldn't wait to let the hair grow longer and do whatever I like with the beard! See, I went to a fairly strict school on beard/hair - it was meant to be a college cut, but I spent a whole year growing my hair while in my final year. Everyone used to bitch about it - why I got to grow long hair, but I went to some crazy lengths to avoid having to get it cut! in the beggining i actually used to gel it down - blech! but it was the only way my year co-ordinator would allow me to keep it growing. Once I got sick of doing that every day... I used to straighten my hair and then tuck the back under my collar, constantly putting water on it throughout the day so it wouldn't stick out. Ugh that was a miserable old time hehe.

Cool animated GIFs! Love the headbang! Keep on rockin' and growing!
David L
Same to ya mate! *devil horns* ;)
I prefer the beard as well but you certainly can do both well. I occasionally wonder if I should go back to clean shaven once in a while but as others said facial hair just does go with long hair lol
take care
cool idea those gifs too lol
Hehe, I tend to take a lot of pictures, so I thought I might try something new ;)
Mixing it up is good every so often, I love having facial hair, but the Irish genes kick in and give it an auburn tinge that I don't like at longer lengths. Once the damn mo can connect with my beard I might experiment a bit more lol.
By the way, I responded to your post below from the other night about lifting weights/dieting etc :)
--Anthony
Yeah thanks for responding to me on the diets and I forgot to thank you when I posted on this, Thanks lol. I hope to try out your strategy as soon as I can do the carb thing, right now I am on a no carb diet (really boring) for health reasons. But I hope to try your advice sometime.
I also have the Irish genes but in my case I usually just end up with some random crazy red hairs amidst the dark brown ones. I prefer those to the grey ones LOL
Ah no worries ;) - Yeah as I said, before trying anything thats a real shcok to the system, best to consult a health professional :)
I have the same thing going on with the beard too - its mostly dark brown al up until my chin, and then there are definately some crazy red hairs in there!
As always, if you need any advice on dieting/lifting i'd be glad to help. Gradually learning more as I do my University studies too :)
Hi Anthony,
Just thought I'd weigh in on this subject too as I've been a gym user most of my adult life.In fact I've just joined a new gym as my memebership expired at my old one.The new gym is awesome with state of the art equipment and right now I'm still doing my old routine from before but I think I'll hook up with the trainers available there and tweak my workout. For the record I'm not looking to bulk up just keep myself in good physical shape. My weight hasn't changed at all since I graduated from high school in 1980 as that is quite amazing I think being I'm 45 right now.My goal is just to remain what I call lean and mean!LOL.Anyway I have too many $ invested in my wardrobe to be having to buy new clothes should I get bigger.LOL Anyway I commend you on how you built up your body as you do look fantastic.Catch ya later,Mark
Excellent to hear you have kept a consistent weight. I like the lean and mean moniker :D I'm looking to go another bulking session this uni holidays, 3 months off and I'd like to sit at around 200lbs (190 currently). Muscle of course though, keeping with the lean and mean approach for the most part hehe :)
What i'd recommend is to do resistance training, using machines and such. More reps and more sets. You can use free weights for such an affect as well, keeping with the high rep/sets. When you bulk, its always the best advice to use the old school style. Free weights; you, a bar, and plenty of iron :D And you perform slightly less sets, and much less reps. Creates the most tears required for new muscle growth. With resistance training and more reps, you're building towards a toned affect, which sounds right up your alley. Hope all goes well with it, and im certain that personal trainers will give you great advice for what you're after out of your gym sessions too :) If every you need advice, i'd be glad to help too :)
cheers

Hi Anthony thanks for the great reply.I can see you are well schooled in fitness as its an honorable perfession.I love working out as it just makes me feel great and I'm very pleased with my physique even though I'm not bulked up like most guys like to be.I know I didn't mention it but I'm 6' 3" tall and weigh in at 155 lbs. so based on that you can tell I'm quite thin.Another thing I need improvement on is nutrician as my diet is really not all that balanced.I'm sure I'd do much better in my workouts if I could straighten that out but I don't want to gain weight really. Its kind of funny at the gym as I'm such a standout compared to the other guys who work out there.I'm sure if they knew my age they would be very surprised too.One set of equipment that I've been trying are the Keiser resistance machines which work on air pressure and feels so different than weights. My last gym had none of that equipment as it was mostly free weights and cable machines.Anyway I like what you told me as it makes sense and toning up is really my goal as at my age getting huge isn't something I would want at this point in my life.Thank you so much for all you told me and I'll be looking forward to future posts from you my friend:)Take care and have a great holiday and cheers as well:)))Mark
Oh heres a pic of me from some years ago but as I said my physique has remained the same so the only difference is that my hair is longer:)
Thank you for the great response too, and the compliments :) I think you look great! By the looks of that picture, you look well toned and fit. I'm impressed. Keep it up! I'm surprised that you're only 155, you look more in this pic - in a good way! hehe
All the best to you for the holidays as well, take care!

AJ, Like the full beard and stache the best. The second GIF shot is great. Awesome smile!
peace, jonalbear
Much appreciated :) now.. if its smiles you want.. then it's smiles you'll get! :D I like this GIF, I was talking to someone when I recorded this, they wanted me to sorta flip my hair and give em a big smile - Enjoy! haha
AJ, Fantastic smile, beautiful hair. Have you ever modeled or considered it! Would definitely buy that toothpaste or shampoo! lol
peace, jonalbear
Heya :) - I was actually wanted as a child model originally many years ago but I wasn't interested in it, plus the $600 dollar cost and all as well hehe
recently, i've ressurected the idea, and I might like to try some modelling - I may give it another year or so, but definately something i'd be interested in :) Thanks very much for the compliments!

Hi Anthony,
Glad to see you back again and the pictures in motion are sooooo cool:)I never even knew you could post them in that manner.Anyway as for you hair and beard it is really hard to say one way or the other which looks better.Frankly you are fortunate that both longhair only or with beard look ACE on you.So in that regards you could flip flop back and forth just to keep people guessing. Also even though your hair is outstanding at its current length I can only imagine what waist length would look like.Sorry to hear about having to sort of hide your longhair in school just to keep people of your back but you were very creative in how you did it.So thanks for the very cool post and as hard as it was I voted for this one:)Take care my friend and come back soon.Mark
Thanks Mark! Yeah it was definately a pain in the ass with what I had to do to avoid the hair police at school haha - bloody stuck up teachers :D (not teachers in general of course though, just in case there are any on here :P) I quite like the shorter length at the moment - the stubble - probably because ive kept the beard at a few levels more dense than current for about 4 months, and wanted to see what I'd look like :)
I have come to the point now where the hair compliments come in quite a bit :) and I do like the length its at now, but i'm itching to see what i'd look like with waist length hair too :) I don't have any reason that would stop me from growing it that long, so I just may get it to that length and decide if I want to cut it back up a little bit or leave it be. That's assuming I can grow it that long though! I was only talking to my mum tonight actually and her hair is about to her middle back, her terminal length. I hope mine has the potential to grow longer and genes don't kick in on me :)
catch you around mate! cheers.
I think the short beard suits you best. The stubble is fine though.
Cheers
Kevin
Thanks mate, maybe one day when I can grow one with more overall coverage i'll go for a longer beard, until then, i like the short beard too :)
cheers
Hello Anthony,
Awesome! Your hair looks amazing in those GIFs. :-) The motion is so real! The rocker one is really nice but they are all cool. More, more...
P.S. What kind of webcam and or software did you use?
Thanks, John S.
Thanks mate!
The software I used was just off a webpage, gifninja.com It provided gifs without the stupid product logo like a lot of free gif software. The webcam I have is Logitech quickcam for notebooks I believe :)
Very much appreciated :D I know! such a transformation. Anyone who knew me back then besides the family of course, can never pick its me! I see a lot of guys from my old soccer team around at local clubs, and not one of them knows its me! hehe
I like the bearded look the best.....
Looking sharp !
WWT
Thanks mate, I might head back to the beard after Christmas :)
cheers!
You're holding the guitar wrong I think :P.
I noticed it looked a bit strange just then actually! I think it's the mirror effect of the cam - Didn't even realise it looked backwards at first hehe
Those are really cool, Anthony! Not sure I've seen someone post an animated gif on here before. Personally, I think the trimmed up stubble suits you better. Still, either way, you look great. =)
Stay well and take care!
-James
Thanks mate, yup, i thought i'd try something new which may not have been posted before :) - to anyone out there who might want to try, all you need is a cam and then go to the website Gifninja.com there is a menu on there that lets you convert video straight to GIF. Though its a 4 sec max to how much you can show in the GIF, its all you ever really need for one hehe.
I'm liking the shorter stubble look at the moment too, I think I might keep it for a while actually, alebit the fact I look a bit younger, some days the beard looks really scruffy on me hehe. I may start to grow it again after christmas or sometime after new years :)
cheers!
Hey Anthony,
Cool gifs! Well done. Beard looks great. But both looks work nicely though. "You got the look" either way!
Cheers,
Max
Thanks Max - I cant wait for the hair to grow even longer too - ill be sure to post more pics when I notice a noticeable change, perhaps another couple months :)
beard looks the best :)
nice pics.
-Dee
This one makes you look adventurous, dangerous, but in a good way. I also happen to be partial to beards, gives guys a rugged look.
Carol
Hey AJ
I don't think I've seen you before so, Welcome to the community!
You have some awesome curls going on. Your hair looks great! As for the look, I personally think the bearded look suits you better. Well, take care and keep it growing.
