Still not using shampoo, been without it for 2-3 months now I lost count. In the winter months from the lack of sun I suffer from SAD, so I usually do sprint intervals (HIIT) 3-4 times a week for whatever chemical the body releases to increase my mood. On days I do this I don't shampoo the entire head just around the ears and where the forehead meets the hairline, using only about a dime sized amount. I've had to stop running for a while because of tightness and shallow breathing for the last 3 days, went to the ER and turns out it was bronchospasms, got put on a nebulizer and have an albuderol inhaler. Never had any asthma my hole life so I hope this was just a one time thing from doing a lot of pushups on a carpet that had been sprayed with carpet cleaner...
I've only taken cold water showers for a little more than a month, it seems to have made my hair way shinier, as well as using infusium 23 conditioner and leave in conditioner the frizzology/moisturology stuff. After growing the hair out the first time and this time, infusium is the best stuff I've ever used. The leave in conditioner is lightweight, detangles and makes my hair really smooth. I also have this garnier fructis palm size sphere bottle with some frizz serum that I use occasionally.
I also got a tattoo 2 days ago, right now it's going through the scabbing phase. The symbol and meaning of it are very important to me, I'd been thinking it over for two years now and decided to get it. It's an ouroboros that I drew up influenced by the alien movies (the first 2 only...) There's a little symbol that looks like a flower opening, it's actually one of the alien eggs that the face suckers hatch out of ;]
Hi Helgast,
your hair looks great. I have to say, kudos on the cold water showers, I think you're a little nuts to take cold showers in winter but that's just me hehehehe. It does seem to do the trick though, your hair looks really healthy and it has a great shine. Keep up the good work. I hope you feel better too. Maybe instead of doing pushups on the carpet you might want to try using a yoga mat or something similar? Anywho, happy holidays!
Danny

Hi Helgast,
Your curls look awesome these days, and I am happy that you have found a routine that works well for you. Cool tattoo as well!
Keep it growing,
David

Your hair looks great. Your careful care routine makes your hair look natural (& somewhat unkempt) and shows off your great waves & curls. Yet, you know what work & discipline it takes to make sure your hair stays healthy & not become a rats nest. lol
Looks like your beard is coming in nicely too. Looks good. :-)
Thanks for all the feedback guys, appreciated as always :]
Oh and Danny, my mom said the same thing about getting a yoga mat. I may do that or just continue exercise but on the wood floor in the other room instead. Also you get used to the cold showers after a while, I can hardly stand to take hot ones anymore.
The only time I forsake hot showers for cold is in the summer. Like this past summr when we had our heatwaves of 105-107 degrees with 30-35% humidity. yuck. that's when i would rinse off in an iceberg if possible. About switching rooms. I would still recommend the mat, it will be padding for your back if you sit ups/crunches and if ever that room isn't available you'll have to go back to the carpet. If you don't want to get a mat, since you're at home. I'm sure if you layer a couple towels together it will provide the same benefits, it will just bunch up a bit. Keep up the good work in all things. and I never commented on the tattoo. it's pretty cool.
Ciao!
Danny
EXCELLENT ACHIEVEMENT, Helgast! I mean that, truthfully. I hope that those bronchio-whatevers WERE due to the toxins in the carpet ya excercised on. My ex-wife had lotsa respiratory "negative externals" (thanks, Monsieur Derf26!) fr. cleaning solvents at one particular job, a nursing home, no less,'til she changed jobs. Presto, change-o! No more lung problems!
Your new ink of your own ouroboros design, etch'd into your skin right around the time when Sagittarius wuzz handing the torch over to Capricorn, says you're serious abt empowering yourself, as designing one's OWN Magic sigils are by far oft times more potent than fishin' sump'n outta some mouldering old medieval grimoire.
Jus' make sure ya research things B4 ya practice 'em, Helgast. See my above posting to ya under member Caledonian's "The Golden Compass" thread. Immortal truths mask'd as good fantasy fiction. Tragic Crowley's poor example.
Once again, Helgast, your hair's lookin' excellent and the self-design'd ink is superlative. Oh! Ever try the all-natural anti-depressant, SAMe, for your S.A.D. ever? It's available fr. most health food stores. As long as ya can keep away fr. Big Pharma, treat it as naturopathically as possible.
Yours for self-empowerment and longhair'd camaraderie,
Quenyan
