A few years ago I remember reading about a group of men, at about the turn of the century (1900), who were an organized religious group in New England. They refused to cut their hair. I can't find the web information about them now. Has anyone heard of this group? Does anyone know more information about them?
Thanks!

Possibly you're refering to The House of David? They even had, of all things, a longhaired male baseball team!
Is this what you are looking for? This was on Victor's hair site.

The House of David was famous for their longhaired men's baseball team, --- it was how those outside of that little religious group came to best know about them. And we're talking about unusually loooooooooooooooong hair for men of that era!!!! I'll google it, to see if I can find a link...

I, too, must admit, to those who haven't met me yet, my reasons for my longer-than-most locks is ALSO for religio-spiritual reasons. Enjoy the game, guys 'n dolls!
It's a home run!

OK, the first on the google search was a link to the religious organization itself, "maryscityofdavid.com". The 2nd link google provided was called, "The House of David Baseball Team Research Project", --- the link provided below...
It's also mentioned in Wikipedea.
Check out both, as there's some fascinating pics as well as reading there... enjoy!
