The other day a was dropping off my motorcycle for a repair. While I was in the waiting area, I was turned towards a wall looking at a picture. The manager walked in and said "Good morning maa..uh sir!" I thought it was kind of funny. I must admit that it made me second guess my outfit for a moment, but I wasn't wearing anything feminine. Maybe they are used to seeing not-so-feminine women in bike shops!
A couple of days later, i was Christmas shopping with my dad and I could hear two little girls behind me speaking very loudly:
Girl 1--"Ooooh lookit dat lady! She tall!" (I'm pretty tall)
Girl 2--"Dat ain't no lady! Das a man!"
Girl 1--"It is too a lady! Lookit her hair!"
Girl 2--"Das a man, girl!"
Girl 1--"Ooooooooh!"
I told may sister about it later on and she said "Yeah, you should really wear a ponytail--your hair looks really gay (she's young). Ooooh can I braid it??"
I thought it was pretty funny. I guess this is a milestone. This will probably happen a lot more.
Haha.
Yeah, when I was a little kid (had long hair for a long time), people used to refer to me as "little girl".
I think it's funny to hear stories like this. Thanks for sharing!
Haha, great story! I can really see those two kids in front of me! :)
That is indeed comical. I actually half-wish this happened to me. Everyone always talks of being mistaken for a woman, but this has NEVER happened to me. I mean my hair is now almost down to mid-back length, and yet no one has ever mistaken me for a girl :S
And it's not like I have THAT much muscle. In fact, in a jumper I look quite skinny.
I know that to those who speak the Queen's English, a jumper is a sweater. But in the US, it's a sleeveless dress, often worn over a pullover shirt.
So, did she? :D My mom keeps teasing me of braiding it and tieing it down with a ribbon then we laugh because she knows I don't let anyone toutch my hair. The last girl who did that ended up in a coma Kidding!
Yeah, I let her braid it a little. I have to watch her, though. She's really rough. I learned that the hard way when I asked her to show me how to make a good ponytail one time. It feels like she's trying to pull all my hair out!
Hahahaha! That convo is hilarious. I know exactly how you feel, happends atleast twice every two weeks for me but it makes me laugh every time.
